Here's what I've gotten to go with my leptop:
Keychron K2 v2 + Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed combo for wireless gaming, the Keychron was fast enough that I don't notice any lag when I tried out UT3 (the fastest paced game I play)

    My portable gaming setup:
Legion 5 Pro + aforementioned keyboard/mouse combo + Logitech MX Sound

Should I decide the Logitech MX Sound to be too bulky, I still have these USB powered badboys, I'd most likely leave the Pebble V3 in Toronto, the Edifier R19U in Thailand and keep the MX Sound at home:

Welp, I've decided to retire. Not sure if its temporary or not, but right now I'm not working.

I've decided to add the 4th Porsche to the stable, in this case a 992 Sport Classic. I managed to get one of the 1,250 that will be produced, which I'm incredibly chuffed with.

It's packed with references to previous models; Has the same engine as the current 992 Turbo, green tacho like on a 550A, all rear aero is from a ducktail like many 930's, yada yada. And it's actually a manual, not a PDK!

Also paid over £200k, which isn't too pretty for a 911. Although hopefully it'll double in value eventually like the 997 Sport Classics did.

Most likely the next car will be a 914/4, as they're quirky little things that I have a weird love for.

RoseLuck462 reacted to tsmspace in I disagree with WAN show,, the robot dog gun is exactly right
The thing about machines, is no one wants the one that's good, and at first it's not clear it IS the good one, but,, the winner always is that weird not good one that if you know, you can predict it.

So,, the gun is importantly very high up on the dog, meaning that the recoil is hard to deal with, since it has a really big leverage angle, meaning the dog basically can't possibly counter the recoil. ,,, well,,, machines and stability is this whole thing, By first of all using a regular gun, tons of engineering is done already, and the trick will work on all sorts of bots with simple brackets and some 3d printed bushings that fit between the brackets and the robot. Then, the legs are long, so the gun needs to be suspended up from the body basically as much as the body is suspended from the ground, because that's just how energy dispersing works in machines. Tanks have massive heavy tracks, so the turret can be directly on the body, since the body is directly on the ground, but what ground they shoot from matters. The robot dog will be able to shoot from more kinds of ground and still hit consistently, because the legs and then the brackets provide so much damping.

Then,, the gun needs to be up higher because the difference in shooting from close to the ground vs shooting from about shoulder height will mean a lot fewer obstructions. The gun needs to have a clear path to the target, which means the robot will need to move more if the gun is lower. The sensors and cameras used to aim the gun would be better off above the gun,,, BUT,, not once the gun fires and the robot is so much lighter than the gun was intended to be held by. Also, once again, by having the gun above the camera, it is much more likely that the gun will not be obstructed, as most obstructions will be from the ground up. Very rarely will a building or tree hang an obstruction so that the camera aims but the gun is obstructed, meanwhile most often an obstruction will be resting on the ground, leading to the camera being able to see the target, but the gun being obstructed.

a turret is not desirable because the stability will require the robot's posture to be facing the target anyway.

aiming with the legs is desirable because the legs will already be large parts, meaning they will be more durable overall compared to having legs and a turret. more weight will stress the legs more, and also will likely need to be minimum size meaning fragile.

lighter is better with machines, particularly in an environment where success is measured in rates, not in absolute single instances. That means that one robot dog will not win, but that many will succeed whether some of them fail from being a bit too light.

finally,, the mounting of the gun just does need to be centered, elevated, etc. The rotation of the recoil will be much better for durability and consistency than would be a gun that results in a recoil that pushes the body in a straight line. The difference between an old drill and a modern day driver is a good way to imagine the energy. An old school heavy duty drill is really hard to drive screws with, because the bits get stripped too easily, the screws break, the bit pops out constantly,, meanwhile a driver (and if you watch videos on how the driver hammers, it again looks like it should just wear out and not work or something) moves around, bounces around, jiggles around,, and that's WHY the bit tip stays in the screw.

Excuse the "doomerism", It's only a matter of time before we see more and more armed robot videos like this. It just honestly feels a bit dastardly for them to be using robot dogs for that; Couldn't they at least use robot hippos or at least a cat would be more realistic.

What I'm saying is that converting a transaction on Ethereum into literal liters of gasoline worth of energy spent is anachronistic. That energy is getting spent whether the blockchain is full of NFT transactions or whether nobody is using Ethereum at all and miners are mining empty blocks. Carbon emissions per Ethereum transaction isn't a meaningful metric. It's like saying my computer sucks because it only gets 0.02 frames per gigabyte. There's no relationship between my computer's framerate and its storage capacity. We can make this mathematical comparison, but it doesn't mean anything.

So a human created one is ok? If non-human generated content is copyrightable would be a separate argument to if it is made into NFT or not. This reminds me of the monkey selfie case, so this is far from the 1st time questions like that have to be answered.

I'm also skeptical that it has any benefit being on the blockchain.

However, the thing about the energy usage of NFTs is almost entirely fabricated. It's a common myth. I'll try to explain it.

The myth that NFTs use a lot of energy was started when an environmental activist started a website that would let you calculate the theoretical carbon emissions associated with a crypto wallet by comparing the emissions of Ethereum mining to the blockspace used by that wallet over time. The relationship between those two things doesn't exist though. The environmental activist was trying to encourage people to donate to a carbon capture project. When he noticed people were using his website to shame artists who wanted to try something new, he took down the website, because that was never the point. Here's an interview where he explains this:

Blockspace on Ethereum is a scarce resource (The unit for blockspace is "gas" and the limit is about 15 million gas per block, with a block added every ~12 seconds (probably closer to 8 seconds after the merge)). However, blockspace isn't created by miners. If the network were secured by one 2050Ti or if it were secured by the economy of a small country like bitcoin is, the blockspace available would still be 15 million gas per 12 seconds. The way this blockspace is allocated right now is basically a bidding system, so if you're willing to pay for it you can use as much as you want. The fees from this sale of blockspace, however, is burned. Demand for blockspace doesn't translate into rewards for miners.

When you fill up your car with $60 worth of gasoline, that $60 goes to the gas station, which gets paid on to the oil refinery, and then that $60 gets paid to the oil drilling company, and that translates to $60 worth of crude oil being sucked out of the ground. $60 worth of carbon emissions are spilled into the air. This is a normal market with normal scarcity and normal supply and demand. Blockspace has a completely fixed supply. The miners are paid using money printed out of thin air as the block reward. The money used to buy block space is stuffed into a paper shredder. The economics is completely different.

There's more to say on this, but hopefully I've explained it enough to show that things are more complicated than you've been led to believe.

The NFT itself is a token to say you "own" something. The artwork can still be duplicated by anyone, with or without any rights to do so. Before NFTs existed, you just used traditional contracts. A copyright holder can assign or transfer those rights as they see fit. NFTs in that sense are one possible way of doing that, and would still need to be backed up by contracts on the back end anyway.

A weak reason I can see for NFTs is it could enable cross platform usage more easily without a single body being directly in control of it. But it still relies on multiple parties to support it. There's a lot of "what ifs" from there. It is a path, but it is not the only path. It may have come about since it wasn't, as far as we know, born from a single company's vision, and otherwise creating an industry wide support for a feature is going to get bogged down in political arguments as each major player fights for their self interests.

Reddit NFTs are slightly less fraudolent than other NFTs. For one reddit has a bigger share for artists, and there are NFTs that are original artworks in there!

If Reddit gets rid of the blockchain thingy and the NFT thinghy, and just setup a PFP marketplace connecting artists and redditors, they would have a nice niche IMO.

Seems like it should go without saying, but the purpose of these NFTs isn't to invest in them and sell them to someone else. You use them as a profile picture, and they're made by popular artists on reddit. Some people still can't seem to see them as anything but a get-rich-quick investment, even as platforms like reddit add new ways to use them every day.

This is a really interesting trend for Reddit to join. It builds upon Reddit’s Vault feature that is well known in /r/cryptocurrency in a very tangible way. It seems like they may have missed the NFT craze but it’s also one of the first interactions I’ve had with NFTs in the public sphere. I personally think that it may end up with people buying them without knowing they are NFTs. I hope this turns out well for Reddit, but am curious how things like refunds and chargebacks are handled when they are purchased in app and immediately given to the user’s vault.
