So this is specific to Android devices then? So my ISP nor the FBI have any idea how I acquired the LMG Christmas Album?

There are DOT requirements here in the U.S., technically a lot of these conversions are not road-legal, but it’s not at all enforced. If the conversion assembly is DOT-certified then it will be close to a factory vehicle if aimed correctly.

The state I live in is supposed to check for DOT compliance for headlights, but I’ve been running LED replacements for a few years on two of my vehicles and no one ever checks it during the yearly inspection. Now, my housings are new and clear, and the pattern is good (also I aimed them correctly), so if you didn’t know the car shipped with halogen bulbs you’d never guess.

Best as I can tell, you need to be on the network in order for this to work. So in your own home, you'd be pretty safe, unless someone in your house is trying to snoop on you, someone gets your WiFi password, or someone breaks into your house and connects to an Ethernet port. Basically, this attack won't work without some degree of access to the router.

I suppose that, in theory, your ISP could use this against you if you are using their provided router, as they could maliciously update the firmware to make such an attack possible from their end. However, this could be easily circumvented by simply having your own router.

The one place where this seems to be a real concern is unsecured WiFi networks, as anyone can connect to them. So in theory, someone at an airport or restaurant could be using this method. Which means that, if you are using a VPN to stay safer at random WiFi locations, you're out of luck.

    Is my understanding here correct?

What software are you using? You should be able to see the spikes in the audio tracks. You'd want to use those spikes to line everything up. A hefty "clap sync" never did me wrong. But I hate editing to the point I don't do it anymore (and haven't for a couple years now).

I think the big issue with linux on low performance PCs is the browser. Light distros and DEs will run fine on a slow system, but when you try using a browser or other newer intensive programs its gonna get too slow to be usable for most uses. And with how cheap SSDs and a bit bettter systems are now, I think it doesn't make sense to do this for most of these old systems.

None of the above:  Spend 15-20 bucks on a 250gb SATA SSD, replace the hdd, and get 1000x better performance.

Maybe I'm just used to really old tech, but this doesn't need to be a thing. I've replaced the screen, battery, and charge port assembly on my iPhone 6s. The parts were all from iFixit (not a sponsor) but I don't know if when I powered the phone back on it synced to said servers. I doubt it, nor is it necessary when you're replacing something like a battery. Apple just like using buzzwords to trick most people into thinking they need new muffler bearings every third oil change.

let me translate that for you:

apple has stopped binding components to devices by serial number, using some false pretense about calibration profiles to avoid facing regulatory backlash for actively blocking any sort of repairability of their devices.

you cannot get legitimate parts to repair apple devices without agreeing to horrendous agreements designed to put repair shops out of business.

on top of that, the stolen phones argument is complete BS here. no one is stealing phones to harvest their battery and display.
