The better question should be: Will it sound as good as it possibly can? No, nowhere near. My 250ohm 990's sounded horrible on my onboard. Even a pair of 770 80ohm sounded pretty weak as well. Since the efficieny is pretty low the output wont be loud or nowhere near the optimal output for the best sound as the bass and treble will sound weak underpowered. I'd definitely recommend the X2HR. Look in my review comparing the 990 pros to the X2HR's. They are about the same price as well. Please take the time to read it. It will be quite helpful and crucial in your choice of headphones.

It will probably work perfectly fine. Id bet very good money on it work absolutely fine like house value money.
May not be as willing to bet that kind of money on the 250ohm version but 80ohm should be fine.

Also the data sheet is missing the important information for some reason. Beyerdeynamic sometimes puts in data sheets some time doesnt.
The important info you need is impedance and sound volume per volt or per watt. That way you can calculate the maximum SPL.

Thats just utter crap. Realtek doesn't make sound cards they make audio converters which don't determine anything to do with impedance or power output.

Impedance is not anywhere as important as the efficiency of the headphones. My 250ohm 880s run fine on my onboard so 80ohms will too.
You might have to crank the volume up a bit.

I suggest you contact the Gigabyte support to find out which impedance is officially supported as they don't state any specs on their website.

Take a look at the link in my signature regarding mic choices,
Depending on your requirements my recommendation usually boils down to either :
1, If strict budget, Samson Q2U, AT2005 or Tbone MB88U
2, If a little more money but want bang for buck and have a reasonably quiet room, Behring UMC202HD and Behringer C2 as a combo
3, If background noise is an issue, UMC202HD, Tbone MB75 and (if required) Klark Teknik CT1
4, If best possible vocal recording for cheap is your goal UMC202HD and 3U Audio CM1

Read through the link, it will help explain what to look for in a mic, if you budget for the mic ends up below $100 options one and two in this list are what you should look at.

X2HR is one of the most praised headphones you can get at such affordable prices.
And since you're from Gemany, you can go for the Deutsche Qualität too: Beyerdynamic Team Tygr. It's a headphone+mic bundle and it fits within your budget.

I have the Tygr 300R standalone without the mic tho but the comfort and sound is damn nice! Openback too and amazing as an allrounder.

I've never used a Marantz before so I have no clue on that one. My personal mic is a Blue Yeti X Professional. I bought an OG Yeti probably 4 years ago and loved it, got the X Pro last year. More for streaming and recording though, not really necessary for just Discord and game coms, so it may not be worth it for what you need the mic for. It's just the one I have the most experience with and enjoy.

As for the headset my go to is the HyperX Cloud IIs, I've had mine for a few years now and love them. Great for shooters or any game where you need to be able to hear footsteps, I also use the headset for media consumption, so watching movies and TV and it works for that as well. It's a USB headset but also uses a 3.5mm audio jack so if you wanted to use it with a dac or have it plugged into the motherboards audio you could. I haven't had a problem using just the USB connection. You don't really need to buy a dac and go all out on an audio setup for just games and discord. It's a very reasonably priced headset as well. Can't beat it for $99 sometimes less.

As for the mic and stuff @The Flying Slothcan be more of a help than me. For headphones I'd definitely say a pair of X2HR if you are up for open back headphones. They are open back as I said and are very efficient to drive coming in at 100dBOpen backs come with a disadvantage, sound leakage and no isolation. BUT comes with far better advantages and pros that just enhances the audio for games, music and speaking to others in discord etc.

I believe they are good, however, it's a vendor dependent issue.  I personally do not go to the store.  I'm like you., I will order on-line.  I've gotten some good deals in the past and I hope to get a few this up-coming BF and CM.

Either prices go up. Or they bring special products in for the sale. At least that’s how Sams Club did it. We would get Black Friday products about a week or so in advance. The night before thanksgiving we would set the shit up and it would be ready bright and early on Friday.

not that good in Europe. Prices drop a bit but the whole thing is basically advertising to push sales, at least in Germany. You might still get a great deal

    L. f reacted to Jurrunio in What are the differences in graphics cards at different price points that use the same chipset?
They improve the cooler and PCB components. Or rather, they build a prefectly fine mid range card (e.g. MSI 2070S Gaming X), then make a shitty version out of it by worsening the cooler and PCB (Ventus) and an overkill version with bigger cooler and over the board components (Gaming X Trio).

no, because the best OC out of the lower end GPU wont let it match the higher end GPU no matter how good the cooler or PCB is

    they dont tell anything useful

No, just focus on the cooler and temperatures & noise levels from reviews

You can't SLI anything below the 2070 Super, and besides SLI is only good for improving 2080Ti performance and getting higher in leaderboards of benchmarks due to optimization problem.

    L. f reacted to Eigenvektor in What are the differences in graphics cards at different price points that use the same chipset?
Are you sure about that? Triple seems extreme.

In any case, manufacturers usually apply a factory overclock, so a 2070 Super from one manufacturer may be slightly faster than a 2070 Super from a different manufacturer. You can either pay the premium or get a cheaper model and attempt to overclock it yourself. So basically, you pay for the convenience of getting a model that is guaranteed to hit the manufacturer's overclock.

SLI is a lot of hassle and essentially dead. There are few games these days that support it and has issues like micro-stutters. A single faster card is usually a better investment.

    L. f reacted to WereCat in What are the differences in graphics cards at different price points that use the same chipset?
1.) Ignore the factory overclock. All modern cards will boost much higher if they have good enough cooling... most of them do.
2.) When picking between brands, the only difference is warranty and the extra features they provide. They also may differ in cooling. Usually considering the price /cooling / warranty in that particular order is enough.
3.) SLI is not worth it. Few games actually support it properly, in others you may actually often see even worse performance than just using a single card. So unless you're already using the best card available, don't consider SLI.
4.) RTX 2070Super is replacing RTX 2070, they should have the same price point so don't even consider 2070.
2060Super is almost on par with 2070.
5.) Always check some reviews before buying.
6.) RTX cards support ray tracig, GTX cards don't.

This doesn't exist, the only PCIe standard that doesnt end with a 0 is PCIe 1.1

Some sad users have found their Rockets coming with PCIe x2 SSD controllers and performance does take a big hit, I'd stay away from them. If you are buying from the US the Team MP34 is much better deal.

I'd go back to MSI B450 ATX boards if 4 SATA ports isnt a problem, since you arent making much use of PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Performance wise the Gaming X is not that good anyway, sufficient since 3600 and even the 3700x doesnt need much power but this also means B450 is competitive.

They require cooling but can go without heatsinks. Meshify C has enough cooling if you add 2 extra case fans to it in the front (comes with 2 fans from Fractal), alternatives will be the Phanteks P400A, Corsair 275R airflow and Cooler Master NR600

Both are good enough, 80+ just represents efficiency but not quality nor function. Even 2070S is ok (but not more) if the PSU has enough cables for powering it (havent checked myself)

The chipset doesnt downgrade to PCIe 2.0 for more lanes for all its connections. Sometimes they do for extra PCIe slots or SATA port controllers, not always

There is no 3.1 when it comes to pci-e slots or lanes.  My guess is the description text got cut off, or they dropped a word.
They're probably referring to USB 3.1 , which is two kinds : usb 3.1 gen 1 (which is basically the classic USB 3.0 5gbps, just rebranded) and there's usb 3.1 gen 2 which is 10gbps speed and there's a different connector on the motherboard for it.

The pci-e 4.0 lanes are double the speed of pci-e 3.0... pci-e 3.0 is approx. 970MB/s for each lane, pci-e 4.0 is around 1.9 GB/s for each lane.
    A M.2 SSD that supports pci-e 4.0 will work just fine on pci-e 3.0 connectors, and viceversa ... a pci-e 3.0 m.2 ssd will run in pci-e 4.0 slots.

x570 motherboards will have two M.2 connectors with pci-e 4.0 lanes, but on some motherboards if you install a SSD in the 2nd connector, one of the pci-e x4 slots may become disabled or reduced to pci-e x1 speeds.

B450 motherboards are cheaper, but the pci-e lanes created by the chipset are pci-e 2.0, so even though the second m.2 connector may be pci-e x4, it will only be capable of 2 GB/s maximum speeds (4 x 500 MB/s)

Hey there! I have the 3.1 from a German website called Geizhals, it's usually reliable but sometimes a bit inaccurate.
Otherwise, thanks for the detailed information! I don't know that much about PC parts so every bit of information helps. Memory kit is currently Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 16 GB DDR4-3200 and PSU be quiet! System Power 9 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified Power supply (whatever that means). I haven't really put a lot of thought in either, for the memory I just rolled with something affordable that's okay in specs and for the PSU something that exceeds the pcpartpicker estimated wattage by about 50-100W and that's high enough on the price scale so it's likely it's not gonna kill me. I've been told my PSU isn't  designed for mid tier PCs, but I don't really understand how that would show if the wattage and cooling is fine. Additionally, I don't mind if it's not modular, I'll take it but I wouldn't pay extra for it. My budget is about 1400€, by the way.

Right! So I'm currently picking parts for my first ever gaming PC. For me, loading times are one of the most crucial part of the experience, so I decided to go for SSD only. Therefore, I picked a Sabrent Rocket NVMe SSD with its beautiful 3450 MB/s read and 3000MB/s write to go along with my Ryzen 5 3600 and graphics card (that's not quite fixed yet, depending on the cyber monday prices somewhere from RTX 2060 Super to RTX 2070 Super). But here's the issue: I'd like 2TB of storage, the Sabrent Rocket 1TB is available for about 120€, the Sabrent Rocket 2TB for about 300€. So to save money and help dissipate heat better, I've decided to buy 2x Sabrent Rocket 1TB rather than 1x Sabrent Rocket 2TB. Now that's all perfect, but in case Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals are not as good as I hope, I need to save some money so I can still afford a good graphics card. Currently, I picked a Gigabyte X570 Gaming X which has 2 M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots (if my datasheet is indeed correct). I now need an alternative AM4 motherboard that features 2x M.2 PCIe 3.1 (or newer) x4 slots. Does anyone know an affordable and good choice? Is this even a good idea in the first place? Last of all, do M.2 SSDs require cooling or is the airflow of the Fractal Design Meshify C case enough? Ask anything you need to know!

    Greetings,
    L. F.
