ProRifts got a reaction from tukars in Will overclocking ram shorten its life?
When overclocking anything there is always a possibility that it will shorten that item's life span but if you do it correctly you will be fine.

ProRifts reacted to -rascal- in DROPPED RAM ON RUNNING GPU
Why are you messing around with the components when the system is ON?!
Why was the RAM stick near the motherboard when it is still on??
It's like going to change the saw blade while the saw is still spinning...
If the metal contacts or heatsink made contact with some of the electrical components on the GPU, it might have caused a short-circuit.
In that situation, your GPU is probably damaged.

ProRifts got a reaction from Johnprogamez in DROPPED RAM ON RUNNING GPU
I see, I don't really know what to suggest here. Turn your PSU off, if you haven't already, re-install the GPU and see if it boots. Give it a bit of time but if nothing happens, it looks like you have a dead card

ProRifts reacted to SorcierX in DROPPED RAM ON RUNNING GPU
if there's no backplate on your gpu and that's where it landed, it's very possible that it's dead.
my #1 rule while building PCs since '96 - system off before opened
sorry to hear your luck, best thing you could do is to contact support and see what they say.

my question is how? usually the system is off when you're installing / removing components .... so just how?

Hi Luke,
GPU's are easy these days, to my knowledge. I think its just install, download drivers and your good to go.

ProRifts got a reaction from Mr. Cucumber in ASUS R6E Intel i9-9980XE support...
It supports Intel® Core™ X Series processor family: Ready for the latest LGA 2066 socket CPUs and I am pretty sure you can just disable the RGB in Aura Sync.

Make sure you are up to date with your drivers. Try to enter your BIOS and check if your graphics settings are on switchable and not on integrated. This tutorial might help.

You should be able to overclock the ram reasonably. 3200 isn't a far cry from 3000.

No worries, I recommend overclocking but don't go silly.

ProRifts got a reaction from Versti in Small freezes mid game
Woah, 99% usage is not normal. What settings are you using in game?
ALT-CTRL-DELETE [task manager]
Right click NAME. -Click GPU [checkmark it] if it isnt already.
Now click the GPU tab so its Number order of usage.
Now walk away and check back. See whats at 100% usage. Post it here.

I copied and pasted off of this link: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1039250/3d-vision/3d-gpu-on-100-/
Hope it helps.

Okay, in task manager, expand R6 and see what is using all of your power up if it isn't evenly spread.

Try to temporarily lower your settings, then take a reading.

ProRifts reacted to caldrin in How does a FreeSync monitor work with a NVIDIA GPU?
Freesync wont work with Nvidia cards so you will just have to use vsync and yeah will go up to what the monitor can handle.
I say wont.. Linus did do a video showing how to get it working but it involves having an AMD Graphics card as well.

ProRifts got a reaction from JasonScorpio in HyperX Cloud Original vs SteelSeries Arctis 3
Cloud will definitely be giving you more comfort. Also, the build quality looks way better on the cloud and it doesn't look as flimsy as the arctis. I suggest the cloud.
