Steam Only Detecting Intel Integrated GPU

Stevers108

Hi all,

I recently purchased a new laptop and I'm trying to run a Steam VR test, and right now Steam is only detecting my Intel integrated graphics card, not the 1060 6 gig the laptop has. Does anybody have any fixes for this? I went into the Nvidia control panel and defaulted the laptop to the 1060 and it's still not detecting it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Steve

You can go into Nvidia Control Panel, search the program and set your Nvidia GPU to be used for specific programs.

When you run the software it will change to the 1060 automatically. When not under load it will use the igpu to preserve battery

When I ran the VR test, it only detected the Intel integrated card

Make sure you are up to date with your drivers. Try to enter your BIOS and check if your graphics settings are on switchable and not on integrated. This tutorial might help.
