Hi everyone,

I am looking into getting a Ryzen 2700x and I know nothing about the ram compatibility. I would like to get something around 3200 or 3466mhz.

I'm wondering if something from G.Skill Trident Z would work or Corsair vengeance pro RGB. I would really like some RGB ram.

Ive I tried to do some research but I know Ryzen ram compatibility has improved overtime and couldn't find anything with recent info.

If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ryzen memory compatibility really improved

no need to worry about that

just get a 3000mhz or 3200mhz dual channel kit and everything will be fine

Especially with a 400 series board, the Ryzen 2 chips have pretty damn good compatibility. Don't pay the premium for faster memory than 3200 as that's skill sketch and probably will stay that way.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

I know CL typically affects ram performance, but with Ryzen the speed is the main issue with the ram for infinity fabric. Is there any benefit to look for 3200mhz ram with a lower CL? Like 14 vs 16 for example.

I'm very interested in OCing as I do it now with my 3930k. I've seen people get up to 3600 for some extra performance. Is it just an issue with some boards? I'd like to squeeze out every last drop of performance over the next few months before I drop money into Zen 2.
