rucdoc got a reaction from RoryDash in Which is currently the recommended HOTAS for Star Citizen?
saitek is currently up in the air, due to being bought by logitech recently.
the thrustmaster warthog is nice, I own own, but VERY expensive.
many people think dual stick is a decent way to go, I can not find fault in their arguements
if you are considering pedal ch make a nice set as do thrustmaster, I own a set of ch pedals.
this is probably a good video to watch

rucdoc got a reaction from NumLock21 in Supreme Court puts a dent on patent trolls
I would like to note the OP is mistaken a bit in their statement. The defendant is the one being sued, the plantif is the one filing suit. the plantif's now must file suit in the region in which the defendant is incorporated. so if a company is incorporated in southern california, the plantif must sue them in the federal courts of southern california

rucdoc got a reaction from CatCloud in Summary Plz?
Is it all on one server? the persistant universe will be yes
Is there even multiplayer? yup, they are also working on possible co-op for squadron 42
What is starter pack for the game? AKA cheapest ship thing 45 dollars for the aurora, and the mustang
When will it be out? The alpha is out now, the next major update is about 2 months away, the Full release will be out when it's ready
Is there anything I can play right now? Yup, the pu test, arena commander (star ship combat pvp and pve), and Star Marine (pvp first person combat)
Are the planets randomly generated? no, they are using some procedural tech to generate much of the surface and artist directed
Will my 980ti and 6800K be able to play 60FPS+? after they do a bunch of optimization, sure
Will there be VR support? yup

rucdoc got a reaction from SansVarnic in Uninstalling?
back in my day, when you wanted to uninstall a game, you just deleted the files. You didn't go on the internet looking for instructions

rucdoc got a reaction from CatCloud in What is star citizen
you do understand that all of the youtube stuff, around the verse, the lore videos, bugsmashers, and the live streams on friday are all paid for by subscribers and not from the development fund right?

rucdoc got a reaction from Realist Peter Pan in Am I the only one?
Well considering the game was pitched, less than four years ago. has been being coded for 3 years, and most AAA games spend four to 5 years from start of production to announcement, then usually 6 months to a year from then to launch CIG is on time for the most part, considering they have completely rewrote the engine. if you want to be less disapointed. set the game down, wait for the actual launch in a year or so, and then be happy

rucdoc got a reaction from SansVarnic in Two Factor Auth rolled out
CIG has rolled out two factor auth for accounts as of yesterday. this allows either the use of a phone ap or email as a second factor to help secure your account. as well they have moved some account details behind a secondary login for places you stay logged in at, like your home computer.

rucdoc got a reaction from Judahnator in LTT Conglomerate main discussion thread
During today's 10 for the chairman Chris said that the "Small" version of the Stanton system will be 1 Billion kilometers across, this is 3,336 light seconds, at full speed of quantum travel it would take you 4.633 hours to go from one end to the other. this is large enough to be massive, but not so massive as to be a slog for being a slog.

rucdoc got a reaction from Wauthar in Is the game worth it?
Is the game worth it, from the plans designs and the fact they have only been coding the game for three years, when most game take 5ish, seems to be.
I'm enjoying myself.

rucdoc got a reaction from rentaspoon in Is the game worth it?
note, technicly the game has never been "Pushed Back" since it's not had an announced Release date. some features and builds have been delayed, but that's because they were broken.
