Met my fiancee online almost 5 years ago (iFunny, then kik. We kept losing contact and re-meeting on different apps). We were always dating other people we weren't happy with, but neither of us had the heart to leave our partners. One day we were both single, and we spent the whole day chatting and dropping hints the either weren't catching on to.

And when I say one day we were both single, it was only one day. We asked each other out at the same time at probably 11PM that same day. We had known each other for 2 years at the time and have been happy since!

I haven't had much time with tech illiterates as I've moved schools and am in a much techier place now. But that doesn't mean I don't have any gold.

I was selling my buddy an AM3 PC for next to nothing since I literally had it sitting around, and couldn't sell it to anybody even at the next to nothing price I was asking. I had bought it for $20 only because it had an AIO in it I robbed for my main system. I had my buddy (who isn't very good at tech) look up how to install a Hyper 212 evo and do it, as I was busy and wouldn't have been able to do it for weeks if not months. He installs it, and the system stops posting.

He texts me saying that he did as the video said, and it wasn't posting. I'm like aight, his moms car is pretty bad and probably shook stuff around. I tell him to remove the RAM and CPU, and reseat both, and to watch videos on how to do both.

Still isn't posting. So I tell him to hold tight and i'd drive over when I get the chance.

Drive over, check the system out. All looks good, I pull the cooler off and the CPU falls off and on to my hand. I knew the socket on the board was a lil weak so I go to put it in thinking all is well, but it doesn't go in all the way.

I kid you not, every pin was bent. Every. Fucking. Pin.

I order a new CPU, offering to pay for it myself, and come back next week to install it.

Cpu comes in, board still isn't posting. Now, the board is dark as is his room, so I couldn't see this until I grabbed my phone's flashlight to check for fuckups.

The entire PCB around the mobo is cracked. Stress fractures everywhere. I just put the system down and took a walk. Came back and had to break the news that he fucked it bad.

Sadly I didn't have another AM3 board, so the sale fell through and I payed him back for the cooler since he couldn't return it.

Aaaand from that point on I never let a customer touch their own system before they pay for it.

I was helping my neighbor pair a bluetooth speaker and I asked her about an old Macbook Air she had laying on a wicker basket on her patio (yep, just laying there).

I asked her if she had issues with it running hot, and if she wanted my Macbook Pro as a trade (she didnt care about the Air, I wanted something lighter than my old Pro).

Her response was, word for word, "Oh no, Macbooks don't overheat. They have cooling fans."

This was the day Linus reviewed the Core i9 macbook. I just chuckled and changed topics.

Aight, I'll finally bite. Though, since my coming out story is boring I'll tell the story of when I realized I was pan!

This was my freshman year of highschool, just off of a bad break fup and feeling spiteful. When I say bad break up, I mean bad breakup. Cops had to be called and everything. Really not good.

I had met my girlfriend from a mutual friend group, which included a rather tall and very flamboyant gay guy. Always thought he looked good, not in a gay way, just a solid looking guy. He was single and used to say he envied me and ex's relationship.

My Ex loved this guy like her brother, and as I said one day I was feeling spiteful and made out with him right in front of my ex. I was expecting a negative response from her, which I sadly didn't get, not in person anyways.

But then I realized I actually liked what I had done. After some thought I asked him out, and we dated for a couple months before I left the school. After that we just sorta drifted apart cause I didn't have any social media or real way to talk to him.

It's a dead fan. You can plug in a 3 in fan to a 4 pin header no problem. The 4th pin is just for finer RPM control.

Just had a rich one with my parents the other night. Tried to talk them into Google Fi, since it seems to have better reliable coverage in the areas I travel to (I'm the only one with a long commute ATM). Currently they're overpaying for Verizon, and 12GB is NOT enough for 3 people when 2 of us have online businesses to run while simultaneously doing other stuff.

My father does not listen well. He's a stubborn italian man with hearing loss.

5 minutes in and he was convinced beyond convincing that Google Fi required all of us to purchase a Pixel 3/Pixel 3XL, for $800 (I didn't catch which.)

No, we not would need new phones. None of us purchased unlocked phones, but my father will continue to babble on about how unlocking your phones yourself never works after dealing with some crackhead shopping mall phone companies in the mall he used to manage.

So yep. You heard it here first people. You cant carrier-unlock phones and Google Fi requires Pixel 3's!

My mom is on board with it, and my father is the type to stick to an opinion till his grave even if he knows damn well its wrong one. So, Im just gonna go fi with my mom and let my dad overpay for verizon and the 12GB he doesn't use (his data usage consists of browsing craigslist while waiting outside thrift shops for me and my mother who both run online resale shops. He insists on going despite having 0 reason to.)

My options are Verizon or Fi, as no other carrier has service in my house (which is in the middle of nowhere). I worked out the math, and Verizon true unlimited for 3 lines is far more expensive than 3 lines of Fi at max data usage.

SenKa got a reaction from RAM555789 in ASRock motherboard caught fire- PLS HELP
With any motherboard failure I would just automatically concider the CPU dead. It likely got damaged in ways you couldn't see, and even if it didn't not only will the damage possibly not be apparent immediately, you're taking a large risk to killing your new motherboard with a dead CPU.

The PSU may be fine, your unit has good OCP protection but may have been shorted in a way that killed it anyways

RAM is a simple test, you can wait to RMA this until your motherboard is replaced. It's pretty much a yes or no question if it's working correctly.

GPU is another yes or no test, when you get your new mobo stress it on Firmark and see if it crashes. If yes, RMA. If no, you're fine.

Fans should be fine, have AsRock cover them if theyre not.

Youre putting a lot of faith in a bill that just requires you to pay $20 to remove the block. If it was say, $2,000 then I would at least see your POV.

In the state of Florida, it is common for $20 to be equivalent to 2 hours of work. Two hours. I.E. 1/4th a single day of a work week...

    Also, what @BuckGup said.
