Plug it in the back, front panel might be damaged. Look for light green jack.

Maybe you knocked one of the internal front pannel cables loose, check the internal IO sockets.

Are you very sure? If yes, file in a dispute if seller refuses it and make sure to provide proof.
VGA simply has to die like dodo's.

Depends on the country. The richer countries like South Africa and Nigeria have more market for expensive things like that, so more supply.

Dah budget gamer666 reacted to VEXICUS in Thinking About Upgrading Bad PC
Build a PC with old xeons. Something like a x3440. It goes around fr about $7-8. Purchase a compatible Mobo fr around $40. Try getting it from eBay or AliExpress. 8gb ddr3 ram fr around $25-30. A psu.. something like a cooler master masterwatt or Corsair cxm.. they go around fr about $40-50. A cheap 240gb SSD fr about $30-40. A new case fr about $10-20. Search on Craigslist/fb marketplace/eBay fr used gpus. Get something like a gtx 750ti/760/770/960/970/1050ti. They all go around fr $50-120. In this way, u can get a decent gaming rig fr around $200. -

Dah budget gamer666 reacted to Spaceman_Wil in Upgrading/fixing old laptop
Downclocking the ram is a great idea
-
Dah budget gamer666 got a reaction from Spaceman_Wil in Upgrading/fixing old laptop
You can downclock the ram to get atleast 4GB ram working.
Also 64 bit Windows 7 is better and faster than 32 bit. You can get the ram working on 64Bit Windows 7.
Install the SSD, download Windows 7 64Bit and upgrade the ram to 4GB.
Also a cooling pad wont do anything for the laptop. Open up the laptop and clean the cooler, change the thermal paste.
When you did all these thing what i mentioned to you, install the integrated graphics, chipset and other drivers.
This will make the laptop run like new.
I hope you will do this.

Last 20 hours I have been mostly reading on what is new in todays computing world with few hours of sleep and this is what I came by:
@Crunchy Dragon @Dah budget gamer666
I upped the budget a bit and switched to Ryzen 5 1600, 6GB 1060 (aorus is best availability in nearby store) and memory (picked this one because it is listed on mobo QVL capable of running at 3GHz - I read Ryzens are particulary impacted by memory clock). What do you think about this setup?

As far as RAM speed goes, I don't think it will cause too much of a difference. Linus has a video on that here:

1. You just enable xmp in uefi
2. Evga should be very good. They have the best customer support. My go to choices for graphics are asus and evga.
3. They are basically the same but extreme4 > prime-a in overclocking

Dah budget gamer666 got a reaction from Scruffmanmills in £1600 New Build, AM2 retirement
1. Do the exact same things as in this video:
Use these software: Msi afterburner and Unigine Heaven at High/Ultra settings.
2. Get this cooler: Cryorig R1 Ultimate https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=13C-000U-00002 , or you can buy it somewhere else.
3. As for the motherboard get this one: PRIME Z370-A, it is good for the price/performance ratio.
4. Just build it by yourself.

Actually the GTX 1080 TI is only 22% faster than the GTX 1080.
If you overclock the GTX 1080, it will be faster than the GTX 1080 TI.
The only benefit for the GTX 1080 TI is the extra 3GB Vram.
Instead of that get a better CPU and get the GTX 1080.

Would not go mini form factor with these components and would not pick the h310 chipset. Also for 10£ more you can have dual channel 3000mhz ram. Other than that seems nice.
I am having second thoughts about that graphic card after what@Dah budget gamer666 said. You should consider even going i7-8700k/1080. Might be more "future proof" for your needs. At the end graphic card is the easiet component to change.
