I too find this claim to be dubious at best.
As a researcher, He should know that going against research protocol and against the basis of the scientific method would yield unreplicable results, rendering his entire exercise null and void (apart from the HIV resistant girls).
Also, the fact that he made the announcement on YouTube is equally as dubious. If you did groundbreaking research, be it against protocol or not, you would probably take this to a scientific journal.

If you're buying ANY Mac device to install another OS to, you need to reevaluate your life decisions.

GE90_115B reacted to Commodus in Europe Parliament accelerating transition to Electric Cars
Can we please stop with the myth that there's no point to EVs until the power sources are clean?
There are multiple studies showing that EVs are still greener overall, even in countries where the vast majority of the energy is 'dirty.' And more importantly, it's incredibly short-sighted to say we shouldn't promote EV adoption until most energy is clean. Do you really think that renewable energy development is frozen in time? That we won't shift primarily to renewables over the next few decades? To bring up the colloquialism, don't let perfectionism be the enemy of good. We won't achieve meaningful emissions reductions by waiting until everything is ideal to do something; we will by taking gradual steps forward.

It doesn't look much different which is good IMO, one of the few phones that doesn't have a dumb notch.

GE90_115B reacted to elfensky in Electricity supplies cannot be guaranteed in Belgium in the month of November
I understand having to maintain and modernize, but I still disagree and don't understand the reasoning of phasing them out. Nuclear is literally the best option with our current technology, especially considering we're not that earthquake prone.

GE90_115B reacted to WereCatf in Why the Linux CoC is Bad
I'm just going to cut this short: you're attacking Coraline as a person, just as she, apparently, attacks other people. You didn't address the CoC itself, you're just shooting the messenger. My point is, even really shitty people can be right or do a good thing and who this Coraline is is a separate matter from the CoC itself; address the CoC on its own merits, if any, but don't mix the two.

GE90_115B reacted to PlayStation 2 in Analysis of the USB-C dongle/headset mess. Bring back the 3.5 mm jack!
The problem here is that everyone wants their own way with USB-C, making a colossal mess. These phone manufacturers need to agree on something here.
Apple didn't start a war on specific specs, to be fair. You can't pin them on manufacturers not being able to agree on what they wanna use.
