Idk if there is a public, free software to do this same thing with random routers...but this should at least push you down the correct track.

    maybe this ?

    Hello everyone!

I was hoping I could get your comments on my list of parts for a new build.

    Nothing has been purchased yet.
Willing to wait 'til Black Friday if I know there will be sales on the higher prices items.

My BIG FOCUS is on TEMPS. I'm not a big fan of noise, but I don't mind it as much I do temps.
The 280x supports a 150mm cpu cooler, so I went with the scythe fuma rev b.
Needed the clearance so I'm hoping I'll get that with the vengeance LPX non rgb.
And a 2080 super card, I don't mind which one I go for so long as the fans are quiet and keeps the card cool.

I plan to run vms, but not very often. A'm a full stack developer doing web and mobile.

First of all - what is the point to moving programs to slower drive and have ssd only for system? It's like to buy 30 years ago hdd for dos and still keeping all programs on floppy disks.

    thx1138 got a reaction from Adir1128 in Is a i5 3570k going to bottleneck a gtx 1660 ti
    a 1660ti is not a price/performance GPU right now....The Vega 56 would be a much better price/perf. or upgrade to a 5700/5700xt or even a 2060$uper........or even downgrade to a 580 or 570(or go used.)

if playing new games that utilize mutl-core then you are definitely leaving performance on the table......but if your at least planning an upgrade at some point within the next 8 months....

I would probaby see about a used GPU to pair with that system (like a 980 or a 1060 6g ) and sell that system when upgrading full system later.

    There is a way,
Move games and movies to a new partition on the HDD,
Then shrink the Windows partition, then you can mirror both the windows and boot partitions to the SSD.

Yeah all we have right now are the reference cards, which aren't really to my liking. I've been checking on it frequently for restocking signs but to no luck at all. And I also seen/read about the Evoke, and as much as possible, I don't want to consider it an option really

The MSI X470 was another option I am currently looking at, and now that you mention it I'll try to think about it more for a while

Yeah and to be honest though doing those stuff haven't really crossed my mind. I would prefer just getting an aftermarket 5700 to have the GPU temps problem solve themselves, and from the reviews I've read/seen the Sapphire Pulse is as good as it can get so far.

I Googled that board you mentioned and I haven't really took a liking to it. Was just also thinking about getting an MSI B450 Tomahawk instead and get a wireless adapter for it.

I also wouldn't mind spending a little extra for an upgrade but if the market is just taking advantage of the money-grabbing opportunity because of the supply/demand situation here, I'd rather just wait it out( Slow and agonizing wait :< )

    This looks pretty awesome....

Though I would say the GPU is not price/perf. You can get a Vega 56 at that price.

    and I would recommend a 5700xp Aftermarket cooler for 420$ or even a 2070$uper for $500+

    also...PSU?

(though...I did choose single channel RAM for future upgrade, longtime value, and for being almost 25% cheaper than 2x4gb)

obviously if you want another case. get another one...but at this price bracket...costs skyrocketed from the ChineseUS tariffs.

also..if you are anywhere close to a microcenter..you can save enough money on deals that you could maybe swing for a r5 2600 for same cost. with their CPU/Motherboard Combos

BIOS Flashback allows you to update the BIOS version of a mb with a USB thumbdrive.

    using a computer.

    You go to https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-A-PRO

and read the BIOS versions...get any downloads required to update to a bios that is compatible with Ryzen 3

Get a USB thumbdrive and place the bios and other files onto it.

boot with the usb drive in the correct ubs slot.

go to bios update area of the UserInterface and you should be able to see your files and choose them.

Just install Linux then if you consider "features" to be bloatware. While Win10 does have a few things in it that really shouldn't be there, like telemetry, it's helpful for MS to make the OS better (or at least that's what the claim...), not to mention most of it all can be disabled... and barely shows any difference in performances, proving that even if you left them alone, it wouldn't make a difference.

SSHD is like a HDD with a small bit of super fast storage. Think of it kind of like Intel Optane, it accelerates frequently accessed files but they are generally pretty crap. I would go with a 240GB SSD to start with and then toss in a HDD later on down the line.
