Subtle Corruption got a reaction from NvidiaIntelAMDLoveTriangle in The 2018 GPU Apocalypse
Just forget the 1000 series exist and wait for Volta.

Subtle Corruption got a reaction from NvidiaIntelAMDLoveTriangle in The intel issue with security. Don't go overboard just be aware.
As much as you should not take the recent news lightly of intel having security problems, remember that it will truly affect very few people out of those with intel based systems overall.
Don't spread mass hysteria and remain level headed, i am a bit biased to AMD right now and love them but it affects us users too, Athlon based systems outright do not boot after the update and it destroys both intel & AMD users.

Clock it to 3.5ghz or higher and you won''t bottleneck a 270 or 580 not even close.

I saw a preliminary story this a few days ago on the salt mine known as WCCFtech. It's good to see DF respond in professional manner, unlike the developer. People doing reviews mess up sometimes and DFs work is a type of review. Life goes on, no need to sue someone over it.

I highly doubt majority console players are even aware of this channel to begin with. Devs like this make anything they make an insta no buy.

Subtle Corruption reacted to AlTech in Activision Blizzard adds 312 new skins to Overwatch to pay for e-Sports by milking customers using Micro-transactions
Activision Blizzard, your favorite match making psychologically manipulative ex that you still can't get rid of, has added 312 new skins to Overwatch.
Can you guess why?
Oh right, Micro-transactions of course. It is suspected that this is to fund their upcoming eSports Tournaments.
The new Micro-transaction currency is called "League Tokens".
1 skin costs 100 Tokens.
So individual skin costs effectively between $2.60 USD per skin to $4.99 USD per skin (Depending on micro-transactions amounts.
To buy every skin in Overwatch using Tokens it would cost between $129.97 (2600 Tokens + 400 Tokens + 200 Tokens) and $1556.88 (312 x 100 Tokens) USD
Ouch. That's definitely not pro-consumer.
It has been stated that 50% of the micro-transactions will go directly to the e-Sports teams
Every Day you login to Overwatch until February 13th you'll receive 100 Tokens.
Of course, as I've probably said many times. I would not give overwatch half the slack I do if it was Free To Play. If it was completely Free To Play this would be acceptable.
But Activision Blizzard are greedy snakes and want customers to pay for a game's own e-Sports league. Oh well....

Subtle Corruption reacted to Bananasplit_00 in AMD Relive. 30FPS small file size or 60FPS huge file size?
ehh id say 30fps is perfectly acceptable for YT, 60 is better ofc but 30 is just fine

Subtle Corruption reacted to Blebekblebek in AMD Relive. 30FPS small file size or 60FPS huge file size?
60fps always better for youtube
however, you might need to edit your video after recording gameplay,
use lower bitrate to make the video file(s) smaller, so it's faster to upload.
Youtube will reencode it again afterall doesn't matter how good/high your video bitrate is.

Subtle Corruption reacted to Drak3 in AMD Athlon PCs are bricked by Spectre patch
So basically, the realistic performance loss due to these patches is anywhere from 0 to 100%.
That's quite the spread.

I don't know... all I see is the same problem as this comic highlights:
There is never an ultimate solution. They all have ups and downs, and each pick what they prefer, what they see has the best value.

Subtle Corruption reacted to dizmo in Ryzen Price Drops
AMD's Ryzen processors will see a nice price drop before the Zen+ chips are released.
I think it was sort of obvious this was coming, as a lot of places kept Black Friday pricing or sales for quite a while.
I don't know if this really warrants a news posting, but it might be useful for those looking at used hardware; barter, friends. They're no longer worth as much as they were yesterday.
The 1800x sees the nicest price drop, but the 1600x definitely isn't too shabby either.
My thoughts: Lower prices are good. That is all.
