It's odd that the first drive has worse 4K random write performance at QD32 with 16 threads than it does at QD1 with 1 thread.

The second one shows a more typical pattern, with much higher random 4K performance (both read and write) at high queue depth. That's hardly relevant to consumer use though.

Both are doing well above 10K IOPS in random 4K read QD1, which is the rule of thumb for good performance in consumer usage. Along with the decent sequential speeds, you would never be able to tell the difference between these drives and a truly top of the line SSD in normal usage. You don't have ridiculously high sequential speeds, but they basically don't matter anyway.

The values are good for a cheap NVMe SSD and bad for a high-end one... So it really depends on what model you have and what type of slot it's attached to (e.g. PCIe gen 2/3/4). Whether a more expensive/faster SSD would make a practical difference, that depends on your use case.

    ????
Well how should I judge this SSD that is likely an Intel 660p or Crucial P1 512GB/1024GB in that case???

It's good for an SSD that is rated for 1800MB/s / 1800-1500MB/s read/write sequential. Of course random performance will suffer on this likely QLC memory drive.

Not all M.2 are made equal, so I am really not sure what I should judge this at. Is this drive and its speed fit for your purpose? Yes? Good. No amount of anyone judging it will make it worse or better for you personally.

Well it depends swill you be collecting or upgrading in the future to harder to drive headphones? If yes grab the stack . If your planning on only keeping the 599. A combo would be the better idea if you manage to find the fiio k5 pro I'm stock I personally think that sounds much better than the fulla 2 or 3. But fulla 3 isn't bad either.

One more addition for the Fulla 2 (own one and use it to drive a pair of HD650 - can't comment on the stack, since I haven't listened to it)

+ also works with Android, specifically got a Micro USB to USB C Cable and occasionally drag the fulla from my desk to the couch for a comfy listening session (Tested successfully with Samsung SGS6, Huawei P20Pro and Galaxy Tab S2)

    - at least my unit occasionally crackles when changing volume

The US prices dropped a lot over our post-Thanksgiving holiday. I've experimented with the Stack "3" and the Fulla 2. It's nearly impossible to tell the difference in sound quality with my headphones. I don't have ultra fancy headphones, but I tested with my X2hr and DT770-250ohm and they sound similar enough that I cannot recommend one over the other based on sound quality alone. Here are some pros/cons for both from my personal experience and opinion. I'm kind of a negative person so I will focus on cons . A product is only as good as the negatives you can live with, right?

    Stack "3"
    +Looks very cool
+LOTS of power - low gain is enough to destroy your hearing for life
    +MODI powers on/off with PC
    +No drivers
-MAGNI powers on/off separately and the switch is on the back
-I count four cords to the units (between power and one input)
-Volume knob is far too close to the headphones jack; not an issue for left handed operation but annoying for right
    -Power lights do not align
-No convenient way to attach the units - the PSYT is ridiculously overpriced and is annoying to use
-No convenient or first party rigid connection
-Requires space for both units (for RCA cables if stacked, or desk space if separated, technically you could hide the MODI)

    Fulla 2
    +Super small and cute
+Power is connected to PC - very convenient - no need to turn it on/off separately
    +Single cord to unit
+No drivers (unit name shows up at "I'm Fulla Schiit"
-Easy to saturate power even with 250ohm - for casual listening this shouldn't be a significant problem
-The unit tends to rock during operation because it only came with three feet instead of four (what the schiit is this all about??)

I'm keeping both though. I like the Stack on my personal desk and I plan to take the Fulla to work and replace my OriGen.

Separating the ground, No. removing the reference to ground from the definition of the signal, yes.

No. It has zero effect on the signal. anyone who says otherwise is lying and relying on anecdotal evidence over any form of measurement.

You've chosen the wrong person to try and sell overpriced cables to. Once you're using a suitable gauge there is no difference between one cable and another. Unless you can show improved measurements, move along.

    Yes.
So long as the drivers are wired separately, which any headphone advertised as balanced should be.

    Yes
    Yes
What would end up happening is one channel would likely just be shorted on it's output, but yes.
Yes. Although it isn't changing the audio, it's just a superior way to transmit signal, look up differential signalling for more info.

From what I can gather, you're asking that if you DIY a 2.5mm TRRS to a 3.5mm TRRS adapter what will happen.

So long as you maintain pin mapping then it will work properly. i.e. pin 1 goes to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2 ... you are simply using it as an extension between the DAP and the headphones, it would just happen to have different connectors on each end..

If you mess up the termination then things can start to go wrong, with a balanced output it relies on a positive voltage and a negative voltage (one on each end of the driver) being of equal magnitude. If the right channel should have a +/- 0.5v and the left expecting a +/- 0.45v, if you had wired the right positive to the left negative then things will probably start to go wrong in the output stage. (values above are purely fictional and are only an example). This could involve current flowing backwards in certain scenarios, which it is not going to like. You would probably end up frying one of the op amps rather than damaging the headphones.

Shorting the two negative poles would be a bad idea, as they are no longer driving each channel individually, but driving both together (kind of), you would also cause current flow between the two negative poles when they are at different potentials. It would affect the sound produced by the headphones and would probably damage part of the amp's output stages.

That would simply be a four core cable, a cable in and of itself has no properties further than how many cores it has. This then determines what it can be used for. A four core cable, with four pole connectors on both ends could be used for running two amplified channels (such as a balanced headphone).

I understand your concern, I want to have a Minimum of 120Hz, this because I play Overwatch sometimes and then single player games. I want to have the benefit of the Hz in both aspects, and G-Sync, this because of the adaptive sync Technology, so when I get lower Frames I still have a smooth experience.

don't use Auto Voltage, use a fixed voltage to determine how low you can take the voltage and still be stable then set to Adaptive with that stable voltage for how high the voltage can go, this will give you better thermals

Because people are going to buy the hell out of this, that's why.  Mark my words, this will be the highest selling Titan card ever.  Period.  Do you realize how few people even know what Pascal architecture is?  Out of the people who are knowledgeable enough to build their own PCs (already a niche of people), only a even smaller minority of them follow things like production architecture generations.  The vast majority of people who buy this will only know that its the most expensive, fastest video card you can buy, and it says Star Wars.  What the fuck else is there to know?

I saw that your mic is USB, thats good, so no seperate Input for your mic. Ehm, there are several, you can check some from SMSL on your range with an internal DAC. I have the SMSL AD18, love it, the Sound is so crisp and no interference regarding the PC and also I don't need to configure anything. Just plug and Play.

This is a bit over your Price, but there are cheaper Options that have the DAC/AMP too!
