Nice photo, reminds me of my uncle who rides Triumph bikes until they are worthless and gets another one.

Somehow I never shared this photo before here.

M.2 drives are nice, but if you already have a SSD for your OS and for anything that is speed sensitive, then it's not likely to change much.

I believe that Flight Sim likes the X3D a lot, but unfortunately I can't find any benchmarks for this game comparing the 2600 and Zen 3 CPUs.

You'd almost certainly need a BIOS update, unless you update regularly.

I believe the 5600/5600X do, the 5700X/5800X do not.

If the budget is $2000 just for the tower that's not very budget. I would start with a Ryzen 7, 32 GB RAM (as memory is so cheap atm anyway), a 1TB m.2 SSD and what ever motherboard gives you the IO you want and a good enough PSU.

See how much budget is left after that and add improvements if there's room.

Ah just noticed you're in Norway, prices will of course be inflated there because of your tax system, ignore my above response.

A direct currency conversion to USD won't work here, do you have any Norway specific websites people can use to get an idea of the cost of parts there?

So what you're doing is against TOS and the account might get banned.
You are able to connect and play steam games remotely, this works the same as any remote desktop so in theory yes, they could view and control your desktop.

I think the idea is meant to be that you download the games that are able to be played offline then never access the account again, but again this is akin to piracy so probably also isn't allowed to be discussed on this forum.

Definitely an interesting video, but I doubt it will come from LTT. The cost to set something like this up would be enormous for them.

Some channel out there is already prepping for this though. That much I'm sure of.

mopman94 got a reaction from M.R_KING in laptop cooling pads worth it???
Routers get hot because they are on all the time, it shouldn't cause any issues.

Laptops getting hot is obviously a problem, it can cause them to thermal throttle. However it won't self destruct, unless it's really old and clogged with dust it will have been tested and proven to be safe at these tempuratures, so whether you want to do anything about it depends on what you're using it for. Just office work? Don't bother. Gaming? You may be losing performance so should look into whether it is thermal throttling and if it is if you can do anything about it.

Cooling matt's don't always work, they give the illusion of working by cooling the outside of the case so it's less hot to touch, you'd have to have a fan blowing I to one of the inlets to have an actual improvment and whether that would even work is questionable.

Youre saying you feel like upgrading one but don't know which, yet you haven't given a reason why, so you shouldn't upgrade either.

Unless you're getting particular performance dips you want to avoid there's just no reason to do it, keep saving for a more major upgrade.

You should be able to use the same rig as you would for a racing sim for a flight sim, it might not work 100% out of the box as I don't think Microsoft have said it's supported but I imagine it will be at some point. Or there are some marketed specifically for flight sims, but it's actually the same product https://www.nextlevelracing.com/products/gtultimate-v2-flight-simulator/

If they were to make a VR video they would need to wait, from the 18th only 1 VR headset is properly supported and I imagine it will have issues, I would wait a few months till the VR support has improved. Also they would want to at least wait till October for the launch of the Honeycomb Aeronautic throttle quadrant, unless they get get hold of a press model.

Alternatively one of the benefits of flight simulators is they normally allow any input device you can conceive as long as it can interface with the PC. As a result you have people like SimFestUK who have bought an actual cockpit of a scrapped Boeing 747 and have rebuilt it in their garage, hooked it up to a flight time and made it fully functional. Cost them about £90,000 (~$120,000) to do though. In that case you don't need to have actual motion on the rig because you create the illusion and almost feel it that way.

I assume if you like Uncharted you've played Tomb Raider? If not get on it, you can usually pick it up for cheap from Fanatical.

It may also be worth looking at revisiting some of your old favorites and seeing if there are any mods that's vastly change or improve the game.
