Col got a reaction from airdeano in is fan controlling necessary?
Buy quiet fans set them up with molex off the power supply , use speed reducers where necessary
fan controllers are a total waste of time

Yes but will you actually utilise the 780 or 780 Ti. At the moment there are no games that I belive that need a 780 Ti to run at 60 fps on ultra quality. Infact I haven't found a single game that runs below 60fps on my 680 at maxed out settings. I just don't see the point unless you are wanting to go up to higher resolution then 1080 x 1920 then yes the 780 Ti is worth it. Maybe games coming out in the next few years will change it but I doubt it as we haven't seen a big increase in graphical fidelity for 8 years and just because the consoles have barely caught up with us I don't see any games coming out that look crazy goo other then the odd few like Star Citizen which might turn out to be a bad game but who knows. If I was going to get a higher res monitor though i would wait for Volta as it has stacked DRAM.

Well today changed my Gtx 560ti ot for the Msi Power edition Gtx670 for £170 on ebay installed and wow what a difference from the 560ti and there was me thinking the 560 would be fine for years yet .
Nvidia experience now says I can run B4 on Ultra from low with the 560 , have to say the difference is amazing .
Will do me for a few years until the 780 comes on ebay fror £170
No point to my post but hey just sharing my new card joy

Col got a reaction from joelthezombie15 in IHS removal INTEL
How on earth have Intel managed to screw up again with the Haswell chips after knowing ivybridge had a problem with heat , must be a new marketing ploy let's get the consumer to take a chisel to Haswell to get decent overclocks.
Next gen they may market chips as room heaters :)

No way! I'm keeping my 2500k until something worthwhile comes out that doesn't have thermal past between the die and the heat spreader and actually performs significantly better. The 2500/2600k was the last non enthusiast Intel chip worth getting.
