The 780 should quite more than $100 more than a 770. Either the 770 is overpriced or the 780 is under priced.

Personally any of the high end cards are a bit bad value. For me I would get the 770 as it's just a 680 but a little better. From now on I will probably only be getting the 70 cards as they are slightly better then middle of the road eg 870, 970 and 1070.

It has 30% more performance from what i've seen and costs around 20-25% more, so yes, it is worth it.

But the GK 110 was a pretty big leap from the GK 104. The 780 is ahead of the 770 to the point where it should probably cost about 150$ more than the 770. 780ti however just don't buy unless you absolutley have to have the best.

Yes but will you actually utilise the 780 or 780 Ti. At the moment there are no games that I belive that need a 780 Ti to run at 60 fps on ultra quality. Infact I haven't found a single game that runs below 60fps on  my 680 at maxed out settings. I just don't see the point unless you are wanting to go up to higher resolution then 1080 x 1920 then yes the 780 Ti is worth it. Maybe games coming out in the next few years will change it but I doubt it as we haven't seen a big increase in graphical fidelity for 8 years and just because the consoles have barely caught up with us I don't see any games coming out that look crazy goo other then the odd few like Star Citizen which might turn out to be a bad game but who knows. If I was going to get a higher res monitor though i would wait for Volta as it has stacked DRAM.

Well you forget about the people with 1440p and 144hz refresh rate monitors. If you have a high refresh rate monitor you pretty much need all the GPU power you can get in order to reach those high framerates. And although future proofing does not exist, high end cards last much longer than mid range ones. So even if a lower end card has better price to performance, if the performance gap is big enough you might last an extra generation before you consider upgrading.

Also how can you possibly say there has been no leap in 8 years?! GRAW, HL2 EP 1, GTA EFLC, Splinter Cell Double Agent, and Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess were all games that pushed the envelope with graphics back then and right now look pretty bad.

That is very true. However even with 4x SLI 780 Ti's you cannot play say Crysis 3 at max settings at 4k resolution running at 60fps. I don't know this as a fact but i am pretty sure. As 4 Titans struggles to push 2560x1440 to get higher than 40fps. That is an exception though because that game looks stunning. That is why I bought a 680 Classified because I knew I would keep it for 4 plus years. I will most likely alway stick with single cards though as they just have better compatibility.
