Wow

Col

Well today changed my Gtx 560ti ot for the Msi Power edition Gtx670 for £170 on ebay installed and wow what a difference from the 560ti and there was me thinking the 560 would be fine for years yet .

Nvidia experience now says I can run B4 on Ultra from low with the 560 , have to say the difference is amazing .

Will do me for a few years until the 780 comes on ebay fror £170

No point to my post but hey just sharing my new card joy :)

some modern games already bring it to it's knees

Depends on resolution. 780ti seems pretty good, even on Crysis 3 & metro benchmarks if not talking on some huge resolutions.

780, non TI.

So what games bring the 780 too it's knees if the 670 runs B4 on Ultra?

You're not maxing everything.

when you run it at more than 1080p or 4K, 4K it definitely cripples or if you want more than 60 fps in all games try completely maxing crysis 3 its nowhere near 60 fps on my 670

To be able to game on Ultra settings + 4X / 8X MSAA + 16X / 32X AF + full shadows + HBAO + etc....and achieve > 60 FPS.

Game smoothly on a multi-monitor setup.

Have a ballin' looking system with 2 or 3 graphics card in (given that you have a windowed case)

Anyone got any thoughts on why people are buying crazy priced graphics cards ?

because they have money to spend and to be able to play super high end graphic.

others may buy them for streaming, others may use them for cuda acceleration

but most just what insane game performance.

Each to their own I suppose . :P

actually...to me ... BF4 maxed run around 80fps with one 280x,,,, 1080p ...

but if you try to maxed Crysis 3 I bet a 780ti will not get it above 60fps avg at 1080p

Thing is a game plays around 40 /50/60fps no one can tell any difference .

So my 1080p 40/50/60fps with a 670 for £170 ebay used is amazing

It's all a con paying big bucks for graphics cards until the game makers step it up , ok if your going hi res screens  different story .

no man, you must be not playing above 60 fps avg...

40 fps is like slow motiong

Try to cap your FPS in Trine 2 for example... try 30  them 40 them 50... and go on... really

also if it's avg in 50fps...mean when you are in a place with grass it will go to 23fps in a huge explosion

If you have a 40-50fps average then your minimums are going to be very low, if you have a high end card then the most important performance advantage that it affords you is a higher minimum frame rate, this is always good even if the average framerate is higher than you need it to be, those dips are going to be more controlled and the smoothness of the gaming experience will be enhanced.

You're right when you say it's not essential, but you do certainly get an improvement when you run more powerful cards, it's all about how much that improvement is worth to you.

They might have high resolution monitors like 1440p or 1600p or multi monitor. If you got the money and you play PC games a lot then go all out.

Yeah go all out if you have the money I suppose , but why spend £500 on a graphics card that runs the latest game B4 Ultra when a MSI GTX 670 power edition runs Ultra just fine at good playable FPS 1080p?

Even if I was a millionaire I don't see the point in spending the money it's only bragging rights having the latest kit in my opinion

Still running 2600k myself as can't see the point upgrading that either

Make no mistake this whole site is setup to make money just like the whole industry they all want you to spend money when there is no need to spend money .

That's the way it works :)

well man if you saw difference between a 560 to 670... you would notice something better in a 780 that's all people said until now. It's not about bragging rights.

Most of the people who say "human eye can't see above YY fps " never played in 120hz with high-end setup.

it's visible for everyone. Not really only to "pro"

Nobody want people to spend more than they can or more than their need. Most of the people here would never recommend 3-way or 4-way sli/xfire for gaming...

2way if 1440p , and a high-end to use AA+ultra on 1080 , mid-end to high to ultra without AA is enough for 1080....

So it was just it.
