GOTSpectrum reacted to itswildfire in LMG Sponsor Complaints
As an ethnic Indian, I have to say I am pissed at dbrand. A lot of people (especially Linus on Twitter) playing it down and comparing it nicknames or jokes have not walked a day in the lives of Indians who live in the western world (and I'm not even from India, they have it way worse). For some reason or another, racism against Indians is just seen as fine and funny (as Pewdiepie showed).
What's even more annoying are the creators in dbrand's pocket that were quiet during the furore and as soon as they said they gave him 10k, started posting jokes about how they want to be made fun of for 10k too. I specifically want to bring up this Jerryrigseverything tweet:
in the replies:
Nick Light responds making a joke. Not that big of a deal. But again, this is a racism issue. I'd like LMG staff to take it more seriously. Zack tells someone (an Indian) that they should be happy for the person dbrand insulted because he received 10k. He should be happy he was racially abused. Let that sink in. Linus commented on Twitter that "unless he's [the person that was insulted] mad, I'm not mad". Well, he is mad. And called dbrand a racist company.
The fact that Linus continues to make excuses for dbrand and even say its not racist, comparing it to white nicknames and saying he has no way of knowing if the person is Indian is ridiculous. Sure, Linus. The guy called dbrand racist and tagged the Prime Minister of India just for fun lol (and yes, he did it before Linus' tweet).
What's even more annoying is Linus' wife is Singaporean. At no point did he think to ask her, "hey, do you think this is racist?" (Singapore is multi-ethnic and has a lot of Indians). Instead, he said "my sister-in-law has a white last name. Showing up after making reservations is fun lol." Aren't we trained during equality training to always check to make sure everyone feels comfortable and not feel discriminated in any way? Why is the white guy being the arbiter of racism?
So the lesson from all of this is that if you're a big company working with a creator, don't just sponsor a random video, be a channel sponsor and pay the big bucks. Creators will even back up your racism.

Their "vetting" is just finding out how much they'll get paid.

Summary
Nearly 20 years after the debut of LiMux, the project where the city of Munich, as well as Lower Saxony, migrated the majority of their computer systems from Microsoft Windows to a custom Linux distribution before being cancelled in 2017, someone else is now ready to take on the challenge. This time, it's the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Citing the goals of independence, sustainability, and security, the state is planning on migrating its 30,000 computers to Linux and other open source software.

My thoughts
I hope them the best. Chipping away at Microsoft's business monopoly is always a good thing.

It's a Cyberpower AIO, not Cooler Master.

This is likely still not desirable since you'd still be working with a limited battery life. It would certainly save a lot of money for the service provider though.

China isn't taking over Taiwan to capture TSMC. Not a centimetre of any fab would survive.

I have to question an $1800 8TB SSD when 4TB goes for $250-300? And intentionally buying from a higher-priced retailer?

You are wasting money on 128G ram, 8TB NVME and on that motherboard. Every single piece of component you chose has one thing going for it, they are all blinged out.

Also to get a decent gpu for high res vr because a 4070 just is not it at all
That and a 13900ks is super expensive and gets beaten by a 7800x3d which is way cheaper.
Just is a rather low end pc for the money with way too much money spent on shiny stuff that will cause op to not have a good gaming experience as the gpu is simply too low end

Honestly I go heavy on positive pressure and leave these open so the GPU heat gets out the case quicker (In theory)

It took a while, but my F@H box is finally operational again!
Tally of stuff i had to replace:
- CPU (7742 died, currently back using the 7552)
- Motherboard (asrock ROMED8-2T to replace the Supermicro H11SSL-i)
- RAM (128GB DDR4 3200 to replace 256GB DDR4 3200 that died)
- Lots of new fittings
- Lots of new tube
- New 4070Ti waterblock (managed to save 1, the other is dead)
- New radiator since the old one was impossible to clean
Final cost, well over 1800 euros!
If anything, i think i learned my lesson using loop cleaning fluids. I'm still waiting on delivery of the second 4070Ti waterblock which is why only 2 GPUs are in the picture now.
