Id say a lot of this comes down to 1% and 0.1% lows. if you're averaging 30 fps and have 1% lows in the mid 20's it will feel a lot smoother than averaging 30 fps with 1% lows <10 fps.

Well, GDDR5 is actually quad-pumped -- it's effective memory speed is 4x the actual operating frequency.

Using this picture as an example diagram..

Typical system memory (e.g. DDR3 and DDR4) can perform two data transfer operations per one clock cycle -- one on the rising-edge, and one on the falling-edge of the clock. That's why you look at CPU-Z, it shows your DDR4 2133 MHz RAM running at ~1066 MHz.
2133 MHz is the effective frequency, while 1066 MHz is the actual operating frequency.

GDDR5 memory on a graphics card is  the same, but instead of double, it's quadruple.
The 7000 MHz on your GTX 970 is actually running at 1750 MHz.
Some programs will show 7000 MHz, 3500 MHz, or 1750 MHz.

GPU-Z shows the actually operating frequency (see the 1753 MHz for memory).

If my memory is correct, programs such as MSI Afterburner and EVGA PrecisionX, you can choose how it shows the GPU memory in the settings; either actual, 2x or 4x. I use Sapphire TriXX for my GPUs (since I'm running Sapphire graphics cards), and there is an check-box to "Show effective memory clocks".

DDR in GDDR5 stands for Double Data Rate. HWMonitor is reporting the raw memory clock not the calculated clock. The advertised clock rate of the memory is 2x what is being displayed in HWMonitor.

all of this is sound advise. Personally I run Raid 10 as I also store my games on the storage array too and didn't like the read and write hit that comes from Raid 5 parity. You also need to take into account the upload speed you are getting from your ISP. I'm running my Blurays at 18mb/sec which needs ~150Mbit/sec upload. However if your set up is sufficiency robust it can trans code the files to a more manageable bit rate on the fly when streaming outside of the home.

COUPER MILLAR reacted to Crunchy Dragon in Anyone know much about this card?
Just going by the fact that it's a 1050Ti, I'd expect good results from it unless the cooler is absolute crap, but going by looks alone, I'd say it's not a total crap cooler, so all in all, my opinion is that it's a pretty good card.

Yes it should fit in the front of the case. No you will not need to use low profile ram. Low profile ram is generally only needed to air cooler clearance.

Also important recommendation. Use the box of the motherboard as a testbench, not the anti-static bag, as that is only anti-static in the inside and can actually fry your components if it builds up

Probably the easiest way to do that is:

    > Clone entire HDD to the SSD
    > Boot from the SSD
    > Wipe the HDD
    > Move over everything you want to be on the HDD

IMO that's better than just trying to clone over the OS and keep the rest on the HDD.

Multi card set ups are a very niche segment of the market. Due to the limited number of people it would benefit, it's not worth the additional man hours to optimize games for multiple cards.

the gains would be slim to none. 99% of games are not optimized to utilize multiple cards. You would be better off buying a 570 or 580 and selling you 560

Why not get a Vega 56 at the same price if not a little lower than the 1070ti? Yeah custom cards are pretty much impossible to find right now and power consumption and thermals aren't all that great but if you have the freesync monitor why not use a card that's going to make use of it around the same price of the 1070ti?
