1070ti or RX580 8gb

Judd

So I am looking to get a better monitor than what I have, and this is the one I picked out

https://www.amazon.com/LG-29UM68-P-29-Inch-21-UltraWide/dp/B01B9IDLAW

it is 2560x1080 at 75hz. It has free sync which is why I’m asking. I want to know if a 1070ti can constantly push 75hz at ultra settings at 2560x1080. If it cannot would I  want the 580 since the monitor is free sync I shouldn’t experience tearing.

Why not get a Vega 56 at the same price if not a little lower than the 1070ti? Yeah custom cards are pretty much impossible to find right now and power consumption and thermals aren't all that great but if you have the freesync monitor why not use a card that's going to make use of it around the same price of the 1070ti?

I was under the influence that a Vega 56 performs worse than a 1070.

Vega 56 performs better than a 1070 in most cases, the cases where it doesn't are the games where Nvidia just performs better overall.

Would recommend watching the videos from Digital Foundry where they compare performance of the 1070ti/1070/1080/Vega 56/ and Vega 64 to each other.

there's their 1080p comparison but they also have 1440p and 4k comparisons but the Vega 56 beats the 1070 in most cases and is pretty on par with the 1070ti a lot of the time.

Vega 56 would be very optimal. Should push you 75 fps on ultra (or at least high) for most games, and in the next 2-3 years, you will have Freesync active for those future games, where you drop to 50-70 fps~

But wait for a Custom Vega 56! Reference is pretty loud.

One last question, is freesync like gsync when the fps drops below 75 the monitor will adapt tonit?
