scighera2 got a reaction from kingfurykiller in Is there any real difference between a "gaming" chair or an office chair
No, The only difference is that "gaming chairs" cost $200 more than an office chair and they are orange/ any other bright color. Remember most people who use office chairs sit in them for 8 hours a day. So they are plenty comfortable (assuming you get a decent chair, which will still be $200 cheaper than a gaming chair)

All of the iphone 8's "NEW" features are on the Galaxy S6 and older.
Not to mention that an android phone isn't monopolized by a company that tries to find new ways to milk their customers with every iteration of their phone.
Example: removing the headphone jack to force people to buy/use an adapter.

Honestly, if you need to use liquid nitrogen it doesn't really count unless it's automated. If it requires the person to pour it on themselves then who cares?

scighera2 got a reaction from whoisjaya in Why is gtx 1060 better for games then gtx 1050 ti
It will be a big bottleneck considering the g4560 will bottleneck the 1050ti in games like GTA 5

Been saying this for years.  LN2 is a useless cooling method and doesn't correlate at all to 24/7 overclocking potential.  I'd be perfectly fine seeing all these LN2 competitions killed off unless someone makes a close loop recirculating LN2 loop.

scighera2 reacted to Techhog in With Coffee Lake shaking up the landscape in two weeks, will Linus & Co. rethink their idea of the best CPU for pure gaming?
Linus, since at least Sandy Bridge it seems, has long felt that 4 core and 4 threads is all you need for a pure gaming machine (even using the 7600K in his RGB build guide), and for good reason. That has, for the most part, been the case for a long time. That said, Coffee Lake presents an interesting challenge to this idea. What was i5 is now i3, while the new i5 should perform similarly to an i7. This means that one of two things could come out of his review of the 8th-gen K SKUs in two weeks:

Linus will declare the (likely sub-$200) i3 8350K to be the best value for gamers, sticking to his guns. This makes a lot of sense, as it could open the door for a GTX 1080 build at a great price, and the i3 might even overclock a little better. He'll start thinking about the current trends in newer games and see more value in i7 performance at an i5 price than in i5, and as such the i5 brand will remain king First of all, no, I'm not ignoring Ryzen. If Zen+ can increase clocks things will shake up again; however, realistically, Intel is just the king of gaming and Ryzen will need some serious price cuts soon. Hopefully this will change next year.

Second, you're probably wondering why I'm making this thread now... Well, I just think it'll be more interesting to do it a little while before we see anything ant then later compare our predictions to reality. Of course, you can present another possibility and give your own prediction of what the top gaming CPU for the money of Holiday 2017. Then we'll see how it actually turns out. Personally, I see Linus & Crew going with option 1, at the very least up to 1070 Ti-based systems. However, assuming a price no higher than $270 US, I think that the 8600K will be the better choice for a system you want to last a long time; it could even be the true successor to the 2500K. And yes, it has two fewer threads than current i7s, but it should still pretty much match them in multithreaded workloads. The worse overclockability might hurt it though. If reports of 4.8GHz on all cores on air come to fruition, an overclocked 8600K could last a very long time.

    I'd wait and get the i7 8700k

Any ways yes the Ryzen 7 1700 actually is better since it's TDP of 65w, it runs cooler so you can overclock it all the way to 3.9ghz just fine if you get Asus for motherboard.

About the graphics card, if OP can afford it then it obviously is worth it, the only reason I'd settle for the 1080 would be if I couldn't pay for the 1080ti at all

If you don't mess with the voltage then there is ZERO risk with Overclocking.

Yes, overclocking is worth it since you get a free 5-20% extra GPU/ CPU power from it.

The question is can you cap your GPU's frame output.  Yes, just get a program like Rivatuner statistics server or afterburner.  If your GPU is powerful enough to never go below 60 fps, or if you cap it at 55 it never goes below that, then theoretically the way I understand it you shouldn't see any tearing and it should be a smooth experience

Don't forget increased frame times and increased stuttering. Also, keep in mind the 1080ti costs the same as 1070sli. So if he sells his 1070 he can get a 1080ti for the same net cost of him just buying another 1070.

    1080 ti.

A 1080 will be only 25%~ faster than your 1070. You can get these "additional fps", by just putting 2-3 single settings down from Ultra to High. it's not really much, to justify your cash loss by upgrading + selling your 1070 with a bit of loss.

If a 1070 is really too low, and you're not just missing out the last 20-25% fps to satisfy you completely, go up to a 1080 ti, and be happy with it

But, do NOT go for sli. it's a bad choice. It will barely match 1080 ti performance, and that just ONLY in those titles, where Sli can be used at all.
Like 2/3 games don't support sli well, and you will get scaling issues.

Seriously. NEVER go Multi-GPU if there is a stronger single GPU waiting for you.
Single GPU > SLI/CF for gamers in EVERY aspect.

And it wouldn't even be cheaper. If you sell your 1070, and use that money + the Money of a new 1070 you could already buy a 1080 ti, which is ALWAYS superior to 1070 sli.

    Edit: Just yesterday:

TL;DR: Don't do Sli. Not worth, mostly only problems, and more disadvantages than advantages.
In some extreme scenarios, he even got less fps with 2x 1080 ti, than with a single one.

Sli with weaker GPUs or older GPUs was never a good idea. If it were a good idea, everyone would do it. Good ideas spread fast ;-)
