I would worry more about saving money when you move out since you said that you won't have enough money to spend on computer parts...

I have an i7-6700k with GTX 1060 6GB. I'd just save if I were you and upgrade the entire computer later.

this 100%. Save for the move then upgrade your whole PC down the road. Upgrading a pc is fun but having a roof over your head is more important

This is a very quick build ive put together. you could probably trim 100 or so off the price if you really wanted to skimp on cheap parts.

I snabbed this bad boy up for $900. Below are my impressions so far.

I manage to get around 6 hours with web browsing, and a light mix of video playback, and installing software, while in battery saver mode. did not get a good chance to test other uses, only had it for a few days. While i do have some blacklight bleed, it is quite minimal. I spotted 0 dead/stuck pixels. i agree with LTT, on the IPS panel, it lacks good color reproduction and brightness. Although, ild consider the max brightness to be something like 75% brightness of a quality display, so its not terrible. Build quality is allot better then i thought it would be. there is next to no flex, the brushed aluminum makes it feel sturdy. the keyboard could be a bit better, but im pleased with it. I hate track pads in general, but this trackpad track ok, i rather it have separate buttons for left and right click thoe. storage, Im gonna have to add a second SSD in there, as 256 gb is not enough. but easy upgrade, as theres an open slot. (Personally still debating about adding a 256gb ssd or 500gb, as this system is not my main driver) Performace - what can i say, for $900 you cant even build a desktop for this performance right now. cooling - Ive only tested one game so far, that being overwatch, both chips stayed around 70c, fans were not maxed.

I'm going to say "no" for several reasons:
You should not get eye pain just by being on the computer, even if you're on it for very long periods of time (12h+ per day, every day).  If that's happening, you should go see an optometrist Blue light is not going to cause eye pain so these wouldn't help anyway.  Your computer screen isn't giving vastly more blue light than anything else you're likely to come across on a daily basis anyway, and regardless it's not like it's really harmful.  If it was, we'd all be blind by now just from the accumulated damage of looking around outside during daytime year after year.  Not to mention just ordinary indoor lights, particularly in an office, mall, or somewhere else that the colour temperature might be closer to 5000K or 6000K to simulate daylight. If you just want to block blue light, there's much cheaper options.  Glasses that do virtually 100% can be had for $15 or less, you don't need to spend $40 or $80 or anything crazy like that unless looks are really that important to you. You can also always just use the nightlight feature in Windows, or F.lux or something like that.  Unless you have an OLED, it won't be perfect of course but it will still cut blue light by 99% or so if turned up high enough. The one legitimate reason that you might want to reduce blue light is if you are using the computer late into the night and right before bed time.  Studies have proven that blue light specifically (as opposed to all light or any light in general) is what triggers our brains to think it's daytime and to thus not release melatonin and other sleeping chemicals.

Tbh if you are doing IT related work these days then chances are you need to learn some programming/scripting. It is used pretty much across the board in IT now. The more you can automate and simplify the better and more efficient you are. This just adds worth to you as an employee.

If you're more comfortable in Unreal, stick with that. Unity historically has been stronger on the mobile front but Unreal has stepped up their game the last few years. Looks at the games you enjoy playing on mobile and go from there. It's best to stick to genres and styles of games you yourself would enjoy. A 3D side scroller or top down 3D shooter sound reasonable. Keeping the game in one perspective should allow you to limit the detail on the art, amount of art assets to keep the game reasonable in scope. It would also allow you to incorporate 2d objects (textured planes) to further simplify the art. You need to go low poly on and keep the art assets and effects down to hit a reasonable FPS on mobile.

As far as one hand vs. two hand controls, I would say if you want your game to appeal to mainstream, yes it probably needs to be playable with one hand, and ideally just with one finger. However if you have a great idea that would require two handed controls, don't consider that a hard and fast rule.

I've got a group of people that I play with in large groups (4-6) regularly (once or twice a week for three or four hours). We're in NA region, but you're always welcome to join us. My battletag is TheBoulder#11545. We're building a competitive team, but we'd need to see if you're a good fit first. Your SR might be too high to play with us noobs. Friend me on discord too if you want, my tag there is TheBoulder#6079

With regards to your concern about team comp: We usually play either dive or 2-2-2. So, most of the time our team comp is Winston-Dva-Zenyatta-Lucio-Genji-Tracer or Reinhardt-Dva-Ana-Zen-Tracer-Soldier.

As a senior in university studying computer engineering , I like how Linus doesn't pretend to know all the technical details about computers, unlike some other channels (*cough* Jayz2CentsMakesMeCringeSometimes).
However, I thought It'd be interesting to give a lecture on what I've learned in my computer architecture class (and study for finals :D.....).

I chose memory hierarchy as the topic because in this video Linus some did real world testing of different RAM speeds had on computers. I've had an issue with what Linus said between 0:57 -1:36 not being technically correct (Yes, I know I'm nitpicking, but hey, Linus does that all the time).  So here goes.

If you can stand me going on an aside every other sentence that is.

NOTE: everything here will be a gross simplification of the actual architecture used by intel/amd/arm etc.

It looks to me like something for warranty. Like if you open up a product that is brand new, and you tear it, you can't return the product and or have it repaired under warranty, since they'll check it and find out you void it in the first place.

Other than that I am not sure. Probably a small electric protection, from static discharge perhaps.

Other than that it does not appear to be something critical if you ripped it.

Like what others explained; it depends on the context, plus it is not socially correct to make offensive jokes and think that nobody would feel offended.

Other than that I feel that the amount of complaining have increased greatly. Not only the internet but out in real life. Perhaps people are just getting tired of seeing same old racist jokes over the year and just want to take an action against it. Other than that, it's just how the society is out in the world and on the internet. There's really not a whole lot of difference nowadays, except personas and or the willingness to open up on the internet, which is pretty common.

Regarding PewDiePie's video on the Nazi jokes, I found it extremely funny on how badly things turned out, but yeah at same time he felt bad about it, I did too. The thing I like about him is that he has a VERY strong connection with his audience. When he feels deeply bad about it, we start to feel a bit of that as well, and we can watch how he solves this problem and learn from his mistakes. I rather keep a man like him, than someone who throws offensive jokes out there and not care about their actions and audience.
