Pretty confused on what I'm supposed to be looking at. What brand of laptop and model?

Looks like it's for grounding, nothing super critical but helps with EMI protection usually.

It looks to me like something for warranty. Like if you open up a product that is brand new, and you tear it, you can't return the product and or have it repaired under warranty, since they'll check it and find out you void it in the first place.

 

Other than that I am not sure. Probably a small electric protection, from static discharge perhaps.

 

Other than that it does not appear to be something critical if you ripped it.
