LOL. Don't listen to this guy.

For the price, it's fine. Especially in Europe it's especially expensive. You can check out Clevo retailers like XMG or PCSpecialist and see if you find better value their.

(part one) biggest issue was the modem they handed out for free with your net was compleat trash droped like every single day was insane
the fix was to upgrade to a new router (don't need the modem with fiber apparently the little light box thing on the wall is the modem)
    i got this

best router ever 100% stopped the dropping on its own

second problem i had was just there network to many people in my area all have gigabyte net and there still new to the area so i called and called and called every day till they fixed there crap

you might not have the second issue but that first one is a great start

Herbz reacted to Enderman in Fun Idea For OverClocking a 6700k
    1) you have no idea what the base clock actually is.

    2) there is no such thing as a "reference clock"

    3) what you are calling a reference clock is actually the "base clock" aka BCLK

    4) what you normally change for overclocking is called the "multiplier"

    5) you should not change the base clock, that is an unsafe way of overclocking and will likely yield worse results than changing the multiplier.

    6) the only reason to change the base clock is if you have a locked CPU like a xeon or non-K.

    7) please watch a few more overclocking tutorials on how to overclock properly using the multiplier.

you dont need a z170 mobo with a non k cpu, go with h170 as it has no overclocking abilities as your cpu is not overclockable

Herbz reacted to airdeano in anyone know if this case has support for these radiators?
meh, you can achieve as well or better with an air cooler, depending on case/mobo layout.
tbh, i couldn't see spending $300 more for the h2o add-on per card for virtually 5-8fps better gaming experience.
save the $600, buy AIB card with an air cooler and call it a day. this way you have a reliable rig, less points of failure, and a better look to see.

6800K. No point in going for the 6850K unless you are running A LOT of PCI-e devices/3-4 GPU's.

go with the i5 as if you get into gaming more you have loads more headroom to play with then if you have the i3

57 and 60 C  are by no means too high for a system that's under load, so I don't think the PC is shutting itself off because of heat or thermal throttling. I guess if it was that warm when you turned it back on and it was idling, I would check cooling.

Pull up a good temperature monitoring software (I dunno, something like Speccy should be okay) and run a benchmark with something like AIDA64 and see how hot the CPU gets, and if it shuts down under a stress test like that.

Make sure your H100 is all properly connected and that the radiator fans are spinning, the pump/block combo is getting power from that adapter that goes to SATA power, etc.

If your CPU turns out not to be the culprit, then you could stress test your GPU with some kind of a benchmark/etc. program and monitor temps.

Display drivers are also something to look at. Maybe uninstall them with DDU and re-install the latest stable version.

Does the PC blue screen or anything when it shuts off, or does it cut out?

These are just things to check.

Don't think it would be overheating, those temp seam are not high enough, but I suggest checking when your in game or running a stress test.

That being said, it might be worth reapplying some thermal compound to rule that out.

Herbz reacted to forthe48 in Bought a new GTX 1070, need new CPU/Mobo
^This. If you're going to get a 6600K, get a Z170 motherboard so that you can properly overclock it. Also, if you don't have one already, take note that Unlocked Skylake CPUs ("K" series) do not come with CPU coolers, so you'll need to order one.

Also, I think 8GB of RAM is fine for now unless you're heavily multitasking. Maybe check out task manager or resource monitor while your PC is under typical load and see how much memory is being used.

Herbz reacted to HKZeroFive in Bought a new GTX 1070, need new CPU/Mobo
If you're upgrading to Skylake, you'll need to upgrade your RAM to DDR4.

On top of that, you can't overclock with a H170 motherboard, you'll need a Z170 to do so.

Honestly upgrading should mostly only be done if necessary, it's better to upgrade later and be amazed at the large framerate increase. I'm still running a 770, and on 1080p all those game would run fine so the 970 will easily handle it.

5820K... Cheaper than 6800K and better than the 6700K.... There is one drawback though, the 5820K is not as good for gaming as the 6700K....

6850K is useless, unless you want 4way SLI (obsolete)

I would advise you to get the 5820K over the 6700K, as in a couple of years you will be able to pick up a 6950X for less than $400... The 6700K is top of the line for Z170, so, there is no upgrade path....
