If we're talking about a dual channel CPU, DDR5 especially, then 2x32GB is objectively better. The only reason to run 4 DIMMs in 2024 is if you need more than 96GB of RAM (then just go with an HEDT system really) or you want the aesthetics of all 4 DIMMs. Aesthetics are a reason to do something, but I don't think a very good one especially if it potentially compromises performance/stability.

Some company make inert blanks for aesthetics as well, where its basically dummy RAM sticks. Not that common though anymore, it seems.

Doesnt work that way. Ethernet is is 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps , 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps or 10 Gbps. Nothing in between. 4 wires are needed for at least 100 Mbps, all 8 are needed for Gigabit and above. My only guess is maybe an issue with Windows, the driver, or some other software causing an issue.

AH there it is, i somehow haven't noticed this running for the 3 years ive had this setup. probably because its not "really" a problem lmfao. Removed the service software and kept the drivers Ethernet speed now matches wifi with 2ms better latency. thanks!!! i would have never thought to look for it because its not in my startup programs, doesn't pop up every and not in my system tray. I literally had to go through and search for the program itself its extremely well hidden.

Oh I notice it has Killer software, is that installed?  That often lives up to its name and kills the speed.

If you don't like it, you can pay for a mobile hotspot and use your own data plan.

But realistically, unless you're causing trouble they probably won't care too much what you do with the connection.

Well for starters, did you put in your address yet?  Given the shipping isnt showing a price I'm assuming not.

Although one thing that I always think of is because taxes can be complicated depending where a person lives.  I'm assuming it's probably in place because if you place an order and it takes a day or two to process; but in the meantime new tax laws come into effect the end user will end up paying potentially different amounts [as some places might consider the time the item shipped or the time a purchase is made as the official time].  Or maybe to cover themselves in the odd case where someone starts the order at 11:59 and places the order 12:01 local time [and during that time new tariff's/taxes came into effect].  It sounds more like a legal thing if anything to protect themselves

I dont no about you people but when i buy something i like to know how much i will be paying BEFORE i pay for a order and order that item or items.

So basically ive seen a certain mousemat from the LTTStore i would like to buy. It goes with my colour scheme on my PC Setup.

The thing is im from the UK not Canada. So i was expecting shipping and taxes which is ok im fine with that. But the thing which is throwing me is well just look at the photo i uploaded. Ive not got a clue how much i will be paying BEFORE i order in taxes and so once ive ordered the mousemat i will have to pay whatever money after to actually get my shipment, it could be anything? Scummy tactic i dare say. I will be held basically like a hostage to my item.

Maybe i am reading it wrong or i am reading it right?. Qoute (After you place your order).

Just a note, as of now it’s only ISPs with more than 100,000 customers. My ISP still doesn’t have to have any speed information on their site.

    Summary
As of April 10th, 2024, an FCC Ruling has been put in effect that ISP's must show accurate pricing, speeds, and data caps displayed like food labels on a cereal box. (Shown in the spoiler box below)

    My thoughts
This is a huge win for consumer rights. Companies should never have been able to hide pricing for anything and hopefully these labels will minimize hidden fee's. This has been a long time coming with the original plan made in 2022 and I'm glad it is finally implemented.
I also want to add that the fact that they need to display these like a food label is also just slightly hilarious.

I literally grew up alongside Indian friends getting called shitstain's and similar because of their skin colour and because of the Indian hygiene stereotype. There's so many variants on shit/poo/kaka used to insult Indians because of race. So fuck off with that shit I've seen how the word's been used throughout my life to belittle Indian friends of mine and it's not okay. Just because you're ignorant doesn't make you right.

Far more respectable response on twitter from Marques Brownlee... at least there's an actual adult in the tech youtuber space

As an ethnic Indian, I have to say I am pissed at dbrand. A lot of people (especially Linus on Twitter) playing it down and comparing it nicknames or jokes have not walked a day in the lives of Indians who live in the western world (and I'm not even from India, they have it way worse). For some reason or another, racism against Indians is just seen as fine and funny (as Pewdiepie showed).

What's even more annoying are the creators in dbrand's pocket that were quiet during the furore and as soon as they said they gave him 10k, started posting jokes about how they want to be made fun of for 10k too. I specifically want to bring up this Jerryrigseverything tweet:

    in the replies:

Nick Light responds making a joke. Not that big of a deal. But again, this is a racism issue. I'd like LMG staff to take it more seriously. Zack tells someone (an Indian) that they should be happy for the person dbrand insulted because he received 10k. He should be happy he was racially abused. Let that sink in. Linus commented on Twitter that "unless he's [the person that was insulted] mad, I'm not mad". Well, he is mad. And called dbrand a racist company.
The fact that Linus continues to make excuses for dbrand and even say its not racist, comparing it to white nicknames and saying he has no way of knowing if the person is Indian is ridiculous. Sure, Linus. The guy called dbrand racist and tagged the Prime Minister of India just for fun lol (and yes, he did it before Linus' tweet).

What's even more annoying is Linus' wife is Singaporean. At no point did he think to ask her, "hey, do you think this is racist?" (Singapore is multi-ethnic and has a lot of Indians). Instead, he said "my sister-in-law has a white last name. Showing up after making reservations is fun lol." Aren't we trained during equality training to always check to make sure everyone feels comfortable and not feel discriminated in any way? Why is the white guy being the arbiter of racism?

So the lesson from all of this is that if you're a big company working with a creator, don't just sponsor a random video, be a channel sponsor and pay the big bucks. Creators will even back up your racism.

Linus either missing the point entirely or being gaslit by dbrand. Either way it's a horrible look... Linus really needs to just stop engaging on social media when it involves controversy. It's just a straight up skill issue he can't involve himself without stepping in it. For someone who talks so much about the weight of ~100 people relying on him for their livelihood he sure does love to do incredibly stupid shit for no reason. Maybe he should get to know Elon, they have that in common.

If you wanted a more comparable situation it'd be like someone making fun of a black person with the name kunerash and saying it sounds like coon rash. Doesn't sound so good when you put it that way does it? Maybe if Linus reads this he can realise how idiotic his comparison is.

Actually nvm maybe this thread is more the anomaly considering Linus's tweets just handwaving it away by saying dbrand "stepped up." Yikes. And then compares an ethnic name to westerners having names that "mean" dick. Wow

Disassemble the block, trace out the basic dimensions of the black bracket then cut a new one that has mounting arms that are long enough. If you can't buy something, you have to make it. Finding sheet steel in the correct thickness that will work on the block will be the tricky part. Should be able to be at least hacked together with a drill and maybe a jigsaw at the very least if you can.

ohlord, it's not at all, not by a long shot.

but... in case of failure, the less the manufacturer skimped on protections, the less likely it is for things to go *very* bad.. in this case, EVGA GQ is reliable enough to assume that it's fine on that part.

having that said - your power supply doesnt care about power outages, surges maybe but they have built in surge protectors for that.

An update to this has been several Youtubers and other organizations cutting sponsorships. Which is fine, I guess. But some of them are doing it in a way which is hypocritical imo. As the sponsorships have been both money and free hardware, not acknowledging that the equipment has been received for free during the time when this was active, or maybe even after investigation was finished and public. So these people have been enjoying same benefits as with sponsorship while pretending to be holy.

I don't mind cutting ties, thats each own decision and I hope they have thought it through. But I find it morally odd to not acknowledge that there was/has been sponsorship and some equipment are from that. They could ofc pay up what is owed, but these people are as greedy as they are now accusing Jimms to be. So not likely.
