CwGoh got a reaction from Cosmic Friend in Ram upgrade on an E2-1800 APU
Getting another stick would help, by not enabing dual-channel as the controller is single channel, but by having more vacant RAM for the GPU to use as memory. But be sure to use 1333MHz ram with the lowest CAS lateny rating (minimum 9 imo) to boost gaming performance. :)

For audiophiles, high-quality MP3 players are still a thing. Very niche though.

24 hours. 48 if you're OCD.

Unless you really want the black colour or the higher RPMs.

They're more or less the same, just choose one with decent VRM hearsinks since you're using an AIO. I'll go for Asus, Gigabyte and MSI.

CwGoh got a reaction from Allahu Snackbar in Experiences with non-techies
People who think consoles are cheaper than the PC for gaming (though that's more of short-sighted perspective.)
The Macbook Air boots quicker than PC laptops because it's a Mac and it's all software optimised.
Installing a bunch of spyware toolbars for IE/YouTube downloaders then give some half-arsed excuse, eg "My son installed Steam and there's a virus!"
You can fix a hard drive by pressing on it.
If a hard drive even touches the floor it will die. (got scolded by a teacher by almost slipping a external hard drive and she threatened me that I had to face discipline action if the drive died. Imagine the number of shots my school's ICT Assistant and I took at her over coffee lol.)
Unpluging a USB flash drive without safely removing it will cause inevitable doom!

The resolution will be useful for productivity IMO. Only reason I got it.

CwGoh got a reaction from TheInverseKey in Quiet HDD as second drive
If you really need extreme silence you can go with laptop HDDs. (Smaller spinning parts, less noise and vibration.) Desktop WD Greens will be very quiet but a Barracuda will be slightly louder but quite a bit faster though

NF-A14 PWM if you don't mind the colour. If you do BeQuiet! SilentWings are good too.

CwGoh got a reaction from Beskamir in Why is VGA so bad?
LCDs are digital panels. While VGA are analogue connectors. Adapters are needed to convert the signal. And normally, the converters inside the displays are crap. Also, since VGA is an analogue standard, you need a good cable or the quality will suck. Digital standards like HDMI, the cables do not matter.
Additionally, the pins in the cable always break.

The splitter has supplemental power from a SATA power cable.

CwGoh got a reaction from Excon in How to fix ram speed?
800MHz is correct. DDR3 is Double Data Rate 3 so the frequency is doubled from the reported number. For getting it to 1866, try going into your BIOS and setting the XMP profile.

CwGoh got a reaction from 7850OC in there is any way to rise the gpu clock of my 7850 up of is 1050mhz ?
Go to the GPU BIOS Database on TechPowerUp.
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?architecture=&manufacturer=&model=HD+7850&interface=&memType=&memSize=
Guide to flash the BIOS:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1353325/tutorial-atiwinflash-how-to-flash-the-bios-of-your-ati-cards
Download and flash a BIOS that has a higher maximum frequency, and you are done. However, make sure the BIOS is compatible with your card.

CwGoh got a reaction from Vitalius in RAM/Memory Speed Question
It may. There are many variables, and I frankly do not know. More research is needed. My hunch is if the rendering is on the CPU, fast ram may help, but if more things are offloaded to the GPU, it will make less of a difference. But that is all a guess though.
