    Heyyyyyy the old SR-2 gets another showing. Unfortunate that OC was misconfigured and you didn't use a newer OS.

    Also did an unreasonable SR-2 build about 2 years ago. Some elbow grease to fit an SR-2 into a modern ATX case and it's a tight fit, but relatively compact for an SR-2 now.

    Specs:
    * SR-2 + 2x X5680 @ 4.3GHz OC
    * 6x8GB DDR3-1860/10 @1.55v
    * R9 295X2 (now a 980Ti)
    * 1x 840 Evo + 1x RevoDrive 3 X2 PCIe SSD
    * 360mm custom loop water cooling (D5, dual Bykski blocks)
    * dual SFX PSUs SF750 + SF600
    * Azza Cast 808W with modded internal frame and custom laser cut mounting plates

    Power draw is completely nuts:
    * Boot: 300-350W
    * Idle: 340W
    * CPU-Z Stress: 600W
    * Heaven 1080p Max 8xAA: 900W🔥
    * Heaven + CPU-Z Stress: 1140W 🔥🥵🔥

    I should really take some nicer pictures in its final state...
    Since then I've added custom screws, diffuse LED strips, all that.

    Posted about it here before but the SR-2 is such a cool board. Got it a while back in a mystery fb marketplace desktop listing for around $60, opened it up to find this beast. I don't own it anymore but I played with 80GB of RAM and new CPUs. I still own the old Noctua coolers, the GTX 480 it came with, and the Lian Li PC P80 HPTX case which is absolutely massive. Loved it while I had it, unfortunately I never tried SLI. Coolest thing I've ever owned

    I feel like it's worth mentioning that r/buildapc does have a Discord channel for those needing help with full builds (something that wasn't touched upon in the video).

    We actually had this place scoped out for a while. My understanding is that Linus or another writer stumbled across it and had an idea for a video. When I went in to talk to him about it late last winter, Keith seemed to not only be game, but was also just really entertaining to talk to. Guy is always cracking jokes and they almost always land. I told him we'd be in touch, gave him my contact info, then proceeded to not respond for 6 months so we'd be sure to catch him by surprise. To my knowledge, he's got no plans of closing down, nor did we have any contact with him outside of this video concept. It also really helped make the decision easy to do this shop because he has a 4.7 star rating on google maps with nearly 200 reviews and still uses an ISP provided email address, which I personally take as a sign that someone is doing something right in their small business because it means that their clients have been returning for so long that it's difficult to change emails.

    Interestingly enough, even Adam said that in the video. They all knew it wouldn't work correctly. Painting it like they thought it would or Billet said it would is not correct.

    Not so much at you, but more at the others that are saying that Billet said it would work correctly.

    For those interested these are the criteria for which he chose not to contact Linus:
    Regardless of whether or not this changes anything or if he should always contact, I agree with the criteria LMG/Linus met.

    While I know Linus means well, on the last 2 criteria he does have a tendency to respond to criticism defensively in the heat of the moment (as evident by the forum response).

    I fully agree with him.

    I believe this is one of the worst videos Linus has put out in a good while now. The idea behind it is good, but the dude shits the bed completely when it comes to the part about the OS. He also really got under my skin by trying to argue that AtlasOS makes Linux completely pointless. It's like he jumps at any opportunity to shit on Linux, with him having the mentality that people only use it for the sake of breathing life into older hardware.

    Honestly I think these "debloated Windows installs" are always more trouble than their worth in the long run. Inevitably something will go tits up, or you'll get infected, or - dare I say - you'll need something from the Microsoft Store, and the whole thing will backfire on you. Just not a worthwhile tradeoff for marginally better performance and a few less nag screens.

    (Also Microsoft is pretty transparent with what Windows telemetry collects and on "Basic" it's more reasonable than you think, even if there is a lot of data being sent. Just putting it out there)

    Yes, but given that GPU-P dynamically allocates resources you shouldn't see any negative impact since there is no overhead.

    That said, if you want to de-partition your GPU you can use the following script:
    $vm = "[VMName]" Remove-VMGpuPartitionAdapter -VMName $vm

    Are you updating the host machine's drivers and need to duplicate that on the virtual machine?

    Honestly, the easiest way is to manually update the files (you'll need to copy the updated Nvidia files from your System32 directory and also copy over your updated driver folder from your DriverStore folder in System32 to the HostDriverStore on the virtual machine).
