Doesn't Nvidia gimp the number of transcoding streams on commercial cards to 2 or something small? Quadros don't have that limitation. Great if you share your plex account with others.

Sorry, just hit me that the Cloud 2 are a headset mic combo. You'll likely need to split the audio and mic to separate cables because isolators only come in TRS (2 ring) format (I'm pretty sure).

There might be a grounding issue with your PC/Headphones/AudioJack I find the easiest solution is to just buy like a $8 ground loop isolator (often branded for use in cars).

Don't allocate too much ram to your Minecraft server. Less ram = better performance in java. If the heap is too big java has to search all it memory it had allocated to find dead objects

12 GB heap on a Minecraft server is too much. Especially for the OP use case. 2 - 4 GB is more than enough.

Yeah like a 6core FX would be good enough for me probably. Buy yeah, I'm probably only going to be running 1 - 3 servers at a time on it.

Not sure about $100 but a used server off ebay is the simplest option. Other than that you can look at either LGA1366 or LGA2011 (too expensive from memory) generation of used Xeons and X58/5500/5520 chipset motherboards, LGA2011 is X79/C602. The Xeons (LGA1366) range from as little as $6 USD each to about $80 USD.

Well, I edit youtube gaming videos so there is not a lot of color correcting, I have an IPS Dell XPS laptop for that. I know that IPS is best for coloring and such  I really liked the last one, I might for it. How do you think it compares to the amazon link in my post?

I could recommend the monitor I am currently use it, since I love it so much.
    https://www.amazon.com/d/Monitors/Viotek-GN24CB-Speakers-Bezel-Less-FreeSync/B078P2XN9M/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1546002637&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=viotek+144hz&psc=1

It's a VA panel which is significantly better than a TN in terms of color accuracy, I have it next to an IPS and they can be hard to tell a picture apart sometimes. You were doing editing so I thought some color accuracy would be important, but I think an IPS would be way out of your price range ($400+). 144hz 4ms response time that can be boosted to 3.1ms. 24". If you're worried about the brand, Viotek is MSI's monitor supplier. MSI has the exact same model, but I decided to go with this brand since they have a "Zero-Tolerance Dead Pixel Policy".
Also, different monitors do not affect your recordings. The only thing that does is resolution.

That's likely the manufacturer warranty if anything. With my laptop I was able to remove the sticker over the SSD screw (M.2) without damaging it, so I just set it off to the side on some other misc component (in a way that it'd be able to be removed later), then I swapped out the SSD with a larger one. If I needed to use the manufacturer warranty, I could've just swapped the old drive back in and placed the sticker back on the screw, and they would've never known anything happened.

From what I've heard, 'warranty void if removed' type stickers don't actually void your warranty if removed.

So I'd say, swap away! Just don't damage anything in the process and you should be fine.

Use flush trim side cutters, if small enough regular wire cutters will work:

So your board is essentially like this currently with the plastic connector ripped off, those metal pins cannot touch in any way if they do your most likely going to short out the PSU or something qite critical on the board.

He's lucky that he didn't kill his PC then, easiest solution would be to flush trim them but if he wants it repaired he's going to need to unsolder all those pins and get a new connector like this:

You don't have to worry about ipv6, most home ISPs don't even support it yet. One thing i forgot is that you should also be using a crossover ethernet cable or you'll need to use a network switch. Some gigabit NICs support auto-configuration to make a regular cable work as crossover, but this isn't present on a lot of the cheaper ones and 10/100mbps NICs don't support it at all.

ItWasEnder reacted to Mr.McMister in Need help with getting my ethernet too work.
The 255.255.255.0 is the subnet mask which is different from the subnet which for a local network is the 3rd set of digits in the ipv4 address 192.168.###.1. Subnet mask should remain as 255.255.255.0. The gateway should also be the address of of the computer you're sharing internet from.

You only need to set static addresses for the connection between the 2 computers your try to share internet across. The connection for the internet should remain unchanged. Setting static IPs disables DHCP because the IP addresses are no longer being dynamically assigned. Windows doesn't have a DHCP server to hand out addesses built in anyway.

ItWasEnder reacted to Mr.McMister in Need help with getting my ethernet too work.
For windows you can open the ethernet adapter properties, go to the sharing tab and check "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection". You'll also need to configure the IPV4 addresses manually on a different subnet than your main network. Set the laptop ethernet adapter to something like 192.168.2.1 and the desktop to 192.168.2.2.
