the native res for playing ssbm is 480p but dolphin with it will be awesome

the cheapest linux rig you can get is the cheapest computer you can get, but something like a raspberry pi is a good option with its community and the ability to use the gpio for different things

well as much as i love linux and i think that everyone should use it, windows is probably the best since they have visual studio

If you're not going to use Arch Linux, you might as well not use Linux at all. .

I never cared about the thumbnails, alhough I personally did like the old ones better. That doesn't turn me off from watching and enjoying a good video. I'm glad you apologised about the misleading title in the ryzen 5 video but other than that I completely understand your motives and don't mind the thumbnails at all.

Super Smash Bros. Melee, it takes a long time to master all the techniques and is super hard to get to be the best ever. You have to learn a LOT of techniques to actually compete on semi competitive level and have to be AMAZING to win any major tournament. It's also a 1v1 tournament (you have 2v2 tournament too though) game, so you can go solo and don't have to depend on teammates. 
 
But it's a whole lot different than LoL. It's a way different genre, but also the way you play is different. Competitive is also done at actual tournament and not at all online. You do have some online ladders and Dolphin emulation is getting way better (recently they made it so input lag is just as low as on consoles with some nifty tricks), but every major tournament is still done locally.

If you want have more control even compared to Arch then do Linux From Scratch 

If you really want to have total control over how your system operates. Try looking into Arch linux. The base install is just a command line interface. It lets you pick what GUI to use, what tools to install, what programs to install. I use it on my laptop and it works great. (However, it's not for the faint of heart)

where did you buy it from can i get spec for it it sounds sketchy or your paranoid  

So long as the PSU itself lasts, then it can keep the fans running (assuming a molex connection). The parts are probably just there for the sake of collecting the dust, rather than actually being powered...
 
...either that, or I hope they are at the very least using those machines for something (say, F@h / Boinc) instead of just wasting a lot of electricity.

didn't think that I would like it but I might be getting a subscription

what this guy needs isnt used hardware, its a bigger budget
minecraft and its mods are very oorly optimized, so hes gonna need some serious cpu power
however, for a gpu, just about anything will do

if you can afford it then I'd recommend Linux Academy 

If its for a computer then save a bit of money and get a wacom tablet from the intuos series
