D13H4RD got a reaction from mxk in I was using my mom's pixel 3xl to try and get some decent pictures of my computer but
Should be fine if you aren't expecting mega clean results.

D13H4RD got a reaction from Ryan_Vickers in Looks like the stock fan curve on the 16” MBP is drastically different
It’s more aggressive. Usually, MacBooks have very conservative fan curves in order to prioritize ambient noise but with the new one, they’ve made them ramp up much more aggressively.

You can with a third party application though I'm not sure if anything has changed since

That's kind of the issue, even when you acknowledge multiple times that the way you use a machine is different.

I know the MBP speakers are great, but I don't benefit from them because I use laptops differently compared to many, so it's no use trying to convince me how great they are, partly because I already know but mostly because it doesn't give me much of a benefit for what I do.

D13H4RD got a reaction from nerdslayer1 in Project SOLI has so much potential, WTF is wrong with them. Make a smartwatch or use
You're expecting too much from Google.

They've been known to release experiments with a lot of potential out in the wild half-baked (or even quarter-baked) and then shortly abandoning it thereafter when it doesn't catch on.

That one has 8GB of the stuff, which is already overkill for me.

D13H4RD got a reaction from TopHatProductions115 in So apparently, Canon's imaging division is continuing to slide. Yes, smartphones cont
That won't happen because they'd then have to make severe compromises on smartphone design to accommodate these larger sensors.

It's not just space for the sensor but they'd also need lenses that are designed for such a sensor, which are usually huge. And from the failure of phones like the Galaxy K series, people don't want that sort of design.

D13H4RD got a reaction from TopHatProductions115 in You know, every time a company leader makes a statement on why their decisions "make
From my PoV, Epic Games is taking the “bad PR is still PR” strategy, namely how they are willing to take controversial risks as it’s deemed that the controversy would create attention to the store, which could potentially mean word-of-mouth gets in and while it may not turn out well, it may get some curious chaps trying out the store.

My concern is that Epic Games doesn’t look to be trying to get everyone to shift to an 88-12 split as games bought for the Epic Store from a third-party reseller is still subject to the usual 70-30 split. It’s fair that they’re targeting mainly Steam since that’s the big gorilla, but I’m just not convinced that it is going to work out over a long period, especially once you factor in the potential cost increase when EGS inevitably expands and adds features alongside server capacity.
