Exploit your motherboard? That's basically just asking for the most expensive components, and filling all the ports up.

CPU: Most expensive 1150 CPU you can find (4790k?) or go the xeon route
    Storage: 6x Samsing 850 Pro's
RAM: 32GB 1866 memory quad dimm kit. Manufacturer doesn't matter, RAM is RAM
GPU: Dual SLI Titan X (they will run at x8...yey) or wait for 980Ti
PSU: Depends on what components you choose and how much wattage you need, EVGA G2 series or Corsair AX/HX, or Seasonic
    Cooling: 6 Noctua NF-A14 iPPC 3000's, 2 3-Pin fans, Kraken x61

That's about it. No PCIe lanes left for stuff like M.2. Your question is rather ambiguous though

I would definitely message or tag rahyan16, since his was completed. Mine never panned out due to real life stuff. My original plan was to have a local metal fab shop cut & bend the 1.5mm thick sheet aluminum. Was going to see if they could powder coat it to match the R5 if possible.

As far as running the cable straight down from the GPU to inside the shroud, it shouldn't be hard. I had the same plan as well.
For the hole, provided you don't use really thick aluminum for the shroud, you can probably cut it yourself with a dremel.
As for making it look good: Find and purchase a rubber grommet you like FIRST, before you cut. I bought these https://store.nzxt.com/products/source-530-grommet-kit. Measure your hole to line up with the grommet's inner crevasse. Then you can cut your hole in the 'top' of the shroud. If you cut it well, the grommet will fit snugly in the hole, and the rubber will surround the cuts, so you really won't even see cut lines or anything. Should work, AND look good, in theory. Just measure that sucker and make sure you're right before you cut.

I can dig it, but that bend/corner on the shroud kills me :-/

What convinced me to make my own PSU shroud was this:

AKA the sexiest PSU shroud I've ever seen in my life. But I have NO idea how you would make such a clean three-way bend in the metal

Check out dt770's, similar to dt990, but they are closed. They are more balanced though, so less punch

Results of testing weekend are here

    HARDWARE

    Test bench:

    Pentium G3258
    Intel BOX cooler 46mm
    Gigabyte B85N Phoenix
    8GB DDR3 1600Mhz in one stick
    Chieftec SFX-500GD-C
    2.5" WD Caviar Blue 1TB
4mm rubber feet in desktop/horizontal position

    Test cards:

Palit GTX 970 4GB Blower Type (150W TDP)

Gigabyte R9-270X Windforce 3X OC @ 150W (-20% Power) - we've been asked on [H] to do this kind of same power comparison.

    METHODOLOGY

First thing to mention is that most of you would want to see really different temps on each gpu and case and it's not really going to happen because of how thermal throttling and gpu boost work. Essentially cards will go up to 80 degrees with boost going way more than declared boost frequency and when they hit the 80 degrees they throttle down to base clock to cool down and go up a bit and do that over and over. That's how it'll work if they won't hit the fps cap like v-sync.

Because of that I've decided to observe the clocks rather than simply log the temps. I burned the card up to stable 80 degrees (or other stable) and logged the average clocks and framerates in games and benches. This can tell us how the card will throttle down rather than how hot it will be.

Screen resolution 1920x1200@56Hz instead of 1080p60 - Basically I don't have 1080p screen because I still have my good old 16:10 screen that can be oversized if required. 1920x1200@56Hz is a really close workload to 1080p60 and I had to use such screen resolution to run benchmarks in 1080p

All games were running max possible settings.

Games were played in same locations instead of running scripted benchmarks but I picked a lot of them to average the results. I think that will do.

Games were played with Vsync except for Alien: Isolation which I decided to let run freely on max fps because all other games wouldn't exceed fps cap.

CS:GO was added with the cap as a different graphics quality title to check out temps on lower clocks. It was excluded from the average values in the summary.

    RESULTS

    >Dad > ok
    >Me > *brings down a set of speakers*
    >Dad > don't plug those in, last time you used your speakers my computer got a virus
    >Me > Dad it's just an audio cab--
    >Dad > I don't care, use your own computer then, I don't want another virus.

Also unrelated: anyone else get incredibly frustrated with trying to maintain parents' computers? I've given up. They don't want to take the time to learn how to keep their PC clean (ie. NOT downloading toolbars galore and other hidden freeware), but just keep downloading crap anyway after I clean their machine.

Don't even get me started on my boss @ work's inception-level file management on his desktop. A folder labeled "Desktop as of [previous year]" which contains a folder called "Desktop as of [previous year]" which contains a folder called "desktop backup [previous year]," which contains a folder called "desktop from [previous year]" .. and repeat ad. nauseam going all the fricken way back to 2005.

He thinks that Mac's "All My Files" feature is a single folder where all of his files are, and has no concept of User Documents folders.

Just like we promised, here You have a little gallery of our 4th prototype. There are several things we have to improve before ordering the 5th prototype, but before that we want to know Your opinion about actual design. Please note that our IEC C13-C14 cable, USB extension cable and long PCI-E riser are made only for this prototype and will be different in a production version.
