Hasleo got a reaction from ItsComrade in Math Problem
a= y2-y1/x2-x1 is a basic math tool you use to find "a" in a non linear function afterwards you have to find b as i can see you have a impotent b value, and i´m guessning it is a f(x)=a*x+b or f(x)b*x^a
the guys above me solved it for you spoils the fun

Hasleo got a reaction from Torand in Google chrome becomes smart to improve laptop battery life
So what google does is to detect flash content and tell you it is there before running the content, and give you control over how it should be displayed.
" When you’re on a webpage that runs Flash, we’ll intelligently pause content (like Flash animations) that aren’t central to the webpage, while keeping central content (like a video) playing without interruption. If we accidentally pause something you were interested in, you can just click it to resume playback. This update significantly reduces power consumption, allowing you to surf the web longer before having to hunt for a power outlet. "
makes me think that the safari browser already have the feature and now google is implanting it and makes my laptop run for a longer time

Even tho I obviously like wireless stuff over wired stuff for the hazard-less of it, I would never give up the OPTION of using cables in favor of purely cloud-based services, it is not smart to trust all your things to a third party that could or could not be working when you need it the most, and that is useless if you are not connected to the internet, not to mention that requires you to have a fast stable connection all the time, do I think it could be useful?, yes, but I don't feel comfortable giving up other options in favor of it, and I think most people feel like this, so even tho it could eventually be truth it will not happen any time soon.
I think the main point in the discussion is that a device that costs 10 times less is more useful than this laptop, yes, the table is not running a desktop OS, it's not as powerful nor does it have the same storage capacity, but the fact is that the lack of I/O bottlenecks what you can do with the hardware, since you need to carry adapters around for everything, you cannot use this laptop for professional work without the adapters, you cannot use it for gaming since it's not THAT powerful, so you are basically left with only limited use, light web browsing and such things as mentioned, and those things you could do in much cheaper devices that are not much bulkier, or that are even less bulky maybe, if you are ok with that because it's fancy then cool, but the argument about usefulness is a very strong one to be made.
_________
Now my actual thoughts on this thing...well, yeah, it looks nice, it has a very nice screen and I bet it's really easy to carry around by itself, but I personally need WAY more than that to justify a price of 1500$, for that price I would expect to be able to game on this thing, to do work and do more intense tasks than what this thing can do, and personally, even tho I like small devices weight and thinness are not that big a factor for me, I would prefer to carry around heavier devices than to sacrifice functionality.

WiFi does give you reliability it depends how you chose to grab the problem in hand, just as we buy cat5e (or more) Ethernet cables to be sure that other things don't interfere with our wire ( crosstalk and such ).
It all lies in the innovation of WiFi, i hope that in not so long we will have better or even input lag on wireless ( without having to configure the bands ) as on cable but all you have to is to configure the router right and make sure there is as little interference with the bands you chose to lay the signal on.
I had a friend of my dad make a program that dynamically changes bands when some gets too crowded and i have never had any problems with input lag or ping that was related to my router.
you say competitive gameres prefer wired connections it is simply a matter of either trust issues or purely because they have never tried to do a proper wireless connection (it is understandable given that they may not have to time to set up and test before actually playing competitive )
the only downside i see to WiFi right now, is the vulnerability of the privacy.

i can only say one thing you are probably right about the limits of the wireless connections but keep in mind that we are becoming more and more mobile as humans and we need our data, wireless or not but it has been proven that wireless can reach about 1 Tbps (terabit) with 100 meter between the receiver and antenna while we might have to wait at least 5 years more for it to become public tho.
and yes wired is faster i agree, but i hold on to wireless as the future, where i don't have plug my laptop in to transfer large files but just do it on WiFi.

i think we need to sort something out about the mac after reading the comments on YouTube and the video
first of all apple is moving away form wired devices and if you have been following Intel then you should know they are in a process to make monitors wireless and such.
anyways back to Apple, they have only one port because that is the only thing you need, IF you are one of those folks who use Bluetooth mouse then the battery time is good and you can safely plug a adapter in and transfer files form you media with out worrying that the computer dies, and if you absolutely need it plugged in then fine you can get a adapter for that, but in the years to come people will start using cloud services or their own nas to get their media, and they don't need a adapter because they just download it form the wireless internet witch is getting faster and faster soon better than wires.
what apple is basically doing is giving us a glimpse of the future where we are heading, and if you cant accept it now, you will in time to come!

Hasleo reacted to ThE_MarD in new phone. galaxy alpha ? one m8 ? lumina phone ? help me choose !
Heyyo,
Please read the first post completely before posting...
Especially this part:
Now, based on his inquiries? is that $300 CAD on or off contract? It'll make a big difference in costs. Also, if on contract, which carrier? Telus? Bell? Wind Mobile? other?
The M8? Ehh, camera is spotty tbh... I had a HTC One M7 and I didn't like the camera tbh... that ultrapixel thing is definitely the achilles heel of the HTC One M7 & M8...
What about the Sony Xperia Z1 or Z2? Is that available in Montreal? It's got a strong processor, dust and water resistant (IP certified) and has a good camera. Sony is known for their smartphone cameras as Sony Exmor sensors are used in many brands just like my OnePlus One. The Sony Exmor RS in the Xperia lineup is fantastic. The Z2 is definitely better than the Z1 with the front facing speakers.
