Math Problem

Red Dragon

Hey guys i was wondering what a formula (like for a line) would be if every time x went up one y doubled.

Example

1,1

2,2

3,4

4,8

5,16

6,32

etc.

it would also be helpful if you explained how you did it so i could know for the future

Thanks in advanced

you need a= y2-y1/x2-x1

then find b afterwards easy

I'm just trying to figure out how to make a function for this...

@Hasleo

I think that only works for linear functions.

Just make it so that everytime x goes up y doubles.

Yeah but how would I write that in an equation?

Yeah but how would I write that in an equation?

y = 0.5 * 2.0^x I used graphmatica.

I think that only works for linear functions.

a= y2-y1/x2-x1 is a basic math tool you use to find "a" in a non linear function afterwards you have to find b as i can see you have a impotent b value, and i´m guessning it is a f(x)=a*x+b or f(x)b*x^a

the guys above me solved it for you :P spoils the fun

Everytime x goes up, you must double y too.

e.g. you make it so x goes up everytime the user presses the + button in your game, you double y.

That's not what I meant. I meant, exactly how would I write the equation to put into a graphing calculator. Someone else solved it already, though.
