    14. Make sure your RAM works, try it another computer.
Step number 14 in black screen says "try it another computer" where it should say "try it in another computer", like line 13 does.

Wind1000100 got a reaction from bealhorm in Fixing Windows Boot Manager
Hey, thanks for the help, but I found something that worked!
I checked the partitions then ran these 3 commands:
    bootrec.exe  /fixmbr
    bootrec.exe  /fixboot
    bootrec.exe  /RebuildBcd
Now Windows is working fine and I will continue updating to Windows 10, as it was attempting before but got stuck due to GRUB.

Wind1000100 reacted to W-L in Battery Questions (Read intro)
For 18650 lithium ion batteries have a dead voltage of I think it was 3.3V so you wouldn't want to discharge below that or it could shorten the lifespan of the cell. Usually torches have a low voltage warning that comes up if it reaches that amount and needs recharging.

1° :  Un protected leads to explosions, just have it protected ( if the brightness goes down, it will be so gradual you won't notice, the voltage won't drop by 1 v when it gets close to empty, the voltage lowers gradually )
3° :  Idk, 3400 mah looks like a lot if the battery is anything like I would imagine, but they are probably fine ( the real capacity is probably closer to ~2800 )

I think wearing Nylon or fluffy Polyester is the bad thing. Carpets are fine, as long as you're handling metal

I have never shocked anything YET, I always follow correct procedure for example grounding myself though there is a first time for everything, I just hope my first time won't be a £200 motherboard or £600 video card. That would suck.

I've zapped an NTC (thermal sensor) on a GPS tracker. Readings went nuts after that.

Using the wrong percentage of isopropyl alcohol to clean thermal paste off a CPU, that's a different story for another time... q.q

I think I might have killed something on my older Z87 motherboard because of static discharge, but I'm not 100% sure.
It actually works, but I'm not able to boot into Windows with it and it also doesn't restart automatically after the Windows installation.
Tried pretty much everything. Now it's just sitting on my shelf, because it looks nice

Was just wondering how often or common components getting fried from just static discharge while handling them was.
Have any you been unfortunate enough to have this happen to one of your new components?
Edit: Also how did you realize something happened, did you feel something?

How did you enter the command "bootrec.exe /fixmbr"? By booting from the Windows install DVD and going to recovery?

Either way, you can follow this youtube tutorial on your phone or other computer to be guided through the complete recovery process. Let me know if it's fixed afterwards.

Yes the CPU is designed to ramp up as needed and cool down as to avoid unnecessary electrical usage and increase longevity.
