How do i get rid of ads on Steam?

Hi guys, i have this problem with my steam. Ads pop up all the time and it is really annoying. How do i fix it?

Have you tried reinstalling it?

You sure something else isn't running in the background? I don't get those ads at all.

Try running malwarebytes, these are not normal ads ( https://mbam-dl.malwarebytes.org/mbam-setup-2.1.8.1057.exe )

Steam doesn't have ads.

Try scan your PC for viruses, also check your "Program & Features", maybe you have programs that you don't even know, because sometimes "that program" might give you ads.

It's no virus, it's adware, and you won't get rid of adware with AVG that gives you even more ads..

Run malwarebytes and if that doesn't if it adwcleaner.

you have adware. download adwcleaner and run it, i had this problem on my old laptop too, i used this to get rid of it.

u have a virus, i would recommend backing up the games and reseting the hard drive or reseting windows if possible.

Look through your installed programs for stupid program names like funn2savee or whatever.

Note that the programs will likely re-install themselves unless properly cleaned out. I usually do it myself and also use Malwarebytes.
