FSBAlston got a reaction from Tairetsu in What consoles do you own and do you still use them?
Sega master system, nes, snes, n64, ps1, ps2, xbox. Ps2 is loaned out to a friend, ps3 is only used for media and streaming tv, rest are in storage. I have rom copies of all my games up to ps2 generation so I still play them on my pc. I might unpack them when my kid is old enough.
Had an atari 2600 once. Sold it during a garage sale.
Portables I have a Gameboy and ds floating around storage, I'm sure.
Edit: Forgot I had a wii packed too. Only had 2 games for it lol.

FSBAlston reacted to DirkW in SSD for OS or games?
Read is actually not limited, and also the write limitation is much more than most people think. With a modern, quality SSD and normal usage you will not get into these limits for years.

FSBAlston got a reaction from Leonard in Why can't I back up my SSD to my HDD
Do you have any linked user files on the hdd? Windows will consider any drive junction - linked or library- linked (my docs go to different drive for example) to be part of os drive and will also image that drive as well.

FSBAlston got a reaction from Deletive in Windows 10 to Still Offer a 32-bit Option
Too many people who say no to 32bit don't understand the technology infrastructure most businesses have in place.
32bit is going to be needed for some time. It is what it is.

FSBAlston reacted to Hieb in Can't Get PS3 controller working
The driver included to apply to the PS3 controller (Windows said I was already at the latest driver).
The dotNetFx40_Full_setup (already included in Windows 8.1)
The dxwebsetup (unsuccessful, as shown in pic above)

FSBAlston got a reaction from EChondo in DayZ Standalone Ban
If you're banned, rebuying the game methinks won't solve your problem. Keep trying to contact them until you get a basic response, or you're SOL.
And I don't assume you're a cheater/hacker. If you did, that's on your conscience.

FSBAlston got a reaction from WinNut in Browser Discussion
or extensions, or browser history. I mean, google is "spying" on me and the browser is bloated, but fair trade off in my mind.I'm getting old. Its nice to have it all lined up no matter what I'm using. Hell, took 3 seconds for my brain to translate "IKR" lol.

FSBAlston reacted to WinNut in Browser Discussion
IKR? It keeps everything in order and makes switching from my iPad Air to my laptop seamless, and I don't have to fret over bookmarks.

Yeah chrome could do some things better, but that sync... I need device syncing in my life, bro. -

FSBAlston got a reaction from PoorlyHung in SSD Pagefile or no?
this, and windows still does it.Side note, you can set it as low as 800mb for kernal dumps (crash logs), but imo 2gb is the sweet spot. You do need pagefiling for legacy programs that assume you already have it.

FSBAlston got a reaction from Phillyphries in Can't Get PS3 controller working
Yeah use SCP. MIJ is crap. Make sure at least one controller is physically plugged into the computer (lights flashing on gamepad) and force install (even on 8, won't hurt it anyway).
Make sure you have a bluetooth for wireless use. It will "eat" the bluetooth driver (basically take over the whole bluetooth device not allowing anything else to use it).
Once it's running, all ps3 controllers to be bound by bluetooth just need to be usb connected then turned on by pressing the PS button.
Completely emulates xinput, and gamepad mapping should be seamless with it.
Also, windows 7 make sure you download the xbox 360 gamepad drivers. Win8 already has them but win7 doesnt.

FSBAlston got a reaction from Tedster in GTX 970 worked fine yesterday, now cant even break 30fps
Kind of curious. You didn't set frame limit in nvidia settings did you?
Also, make sure you have 60 hz selected on your monitor settings (some allow you to select 30 hz). Check settings on the monitor itself to ensure its running 60 hz too. After all this, then it might be problems with gpu hardware.

FSBAlston got a reaction from Dabombinable in SATA III SSD But SATA II motherboard?
I would say no, but you're not going to be hurting on sata ii. I threw in an 840 evo as a replacement boot drive on my p55. Damn thing was like night and day (actually made me permanently consider ssds for boot drives). You'll be satisfied with the speeds on sata2.

FSBAlston got a reaction from NeatSquidYT in Pentium G3258 Owners Thread :D
Only bought one because a friend of mine and I were having a discussion. I was debating throwing down more for an i3 or i5 (non-k), and he talked me into getting a g3258. Kinda regretting that now since I'm starting to see new games refuse to run on it. I'm not sweating it, though. It's not my only PC and my main rig's i7 860 can still run multi-threaded games very nicely.
FYI OC'd it on an H85 up to 4.1 on stock cooler. I keep it down to 3.8 so that I don't push it hard. didn't have to up the voltage either. This chip's definately got a future in htpc or nas use.
