It's me! got a reaction from kenlizhijian in How Much Market Share Did AMD Gain IN 2017?
Well, I thought that AMD had grabbed a lot more share than this from Intel, but a lot of sites report garbage information. Still, adding nearly a million units in sales is pretty damn impressive. They also talk about how Ryzen doesn't compete against the whole market because of price and the lack of an IGP, which is a good point. the most important part is at the end of thee article they talk about how good Global Foundries 7nm is compared to Intel's 10nm.

It's me! got a reaction from Fred Flintstone in Unannounced AMD 400-Series Chipset Appears In PCI-SIG Integrators List
Well well, so it begins. AMD has 400 Series motherboards listed on PCI-SIG Integrators list. Woot! I bet they stick with Socket 1331 too, so perhaps just a bios flash to move forward.
One thing is for certain, whatever they have is coming soon!

It's me! got a reaction from McHox in Intel Xeon Platinum 8176 Scalable Processor Review
Well, Intel['s pricing seems to have gone up A LOT, and they are segmenting even more by cutting out half the features, or more, on a lot of the Xeons.

It's me! got a reaction from UnknownEngineer in WD Announces First 64-Layer 512Gb TLC NAND Die Amidst Toshiba Turmoil
No, each individual die has 64 layers of cells, which means that it has 64GB of capacity per die. They take the die and then stack them up into a package. Each package can have up to 16 die, which means 1TB max.

China's rise in semiconductor tech is troubling. The US, and other countries, have been blocking their acquisitions of late, but they don't seem to care.

So, SSD prices are shooting up, so HDD sales shot up, and now there is a pending HDD shortage. I guess I will just buy some old school tape for storage

It's me! got a reaction from DaBeggad in Intel's i7-7700K Kaby Lake Overclocked and Reviewed at Tom's!
The guys at Toms got ahold of an i7-7700K and overclocked it, it really had some heat issues, but the clocks seem pretty decent for what might be early silicon, though they aren't sure if its early or not. It seemed to do well enough though in their full suite, but I'm not sure if its enough to run out and buy one~!!
