MS and Intel and Netflix and the Edge browser are all in bed. When are these guys gonna learn that these tactics are not going to work? well, perhaps in this case they will.

Microsoft announced via its blog that Netflix will stream four new "Gilmore Girls" episodes (sigh) in 4K. The company further noted that you must use Windows 10, the Edge browser, and 7th Generation Kaby Lake processors, as well as a premium subscription to unlock the emotional rollercoaster.

So for me to get Netflix running I'll need a Kaby Lake CPU. No problem, Celerons cost 30$ a pop. I need Windows 10? Great, I need an upgrade. Another 30$. Oh, I need a 4K TV. 400$.

So in total I need to spend 500$ just to get better quality. Props to Netflix, Intel and M$.

No one is "in bed" with each other. from the start Netflix 4k content was in h265, due to bitrate restrictions. and intel kaby lake is the First CPU to have hardware decoder for h265 (it is basically needed). and Microsoft is just the first company to allow webpages to use that hardware. why do people put this evil spin on it.
