Sgt got a reaction from Raboo in [COMPLETED][Build Log] Aperture Engine | White CaseLabs STH10 - i7 3930K - Dual GTX 690
Hello everyone, Sgt here.
I've been lurking here during around 2 months, and now, I've finally decided to come out of my cavern.
I was thinking, which is the better way for me to introduce myself than doing a build log ? So lets do this :)
I'm sure i'll meet a lot of nice people here :)
I'm an huge fan of Portal games, so my idea with this build is to build something pure with a little touch of color here and there.
Here is the color scheme :

Luckily, all my hardware parts match to this color scheme, as well as my cooling parts.

Directly coming from the US to France (yes, I'm French), i present you my STH10 from CaseLabs !
Hope you liked this little teaser of my build log :)
More to come soon !
Pictures are watermarked by myself to avoid a problem that James (remember the 900CSQ build ?) encountered here.

Check out this guy : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ensourced-Custom-Sleeved-Cables/351225731619723
He has a big panel of colors, and you can ask for custom length/color combination great quality and relatively cheap
Edit : his profile picture might help you

Sgt reacted to Stephie_Girl in in the last 18 month's...
I've spent $9,296.53 on computer stuff, however add like 800 or so from eBay as it only shows like the past 90 days and I've built 2 PC's off of used parts from there and then some
EDIT: No, no you guys misunderstood me :(, that's like 15+ PC's I've for other people. That is the total and here is the breakdown.
Newegg: 8079.91
Amazon: 211.41
NCIX: 608.37
SuperBiz: 101.69
ebay Confirmed: 295.15
About 95% of it was on my primary Newegg Account, about 600 was spread across like 3 other accounts used for first time discounts xD

Sgt got a reaction from Ruostunut kokis in 550 Ti to used 590 Worth it?
The problem is not the performance AMD fanboys, the problem is the op has a tight budget. So its about MONEY. M-O-N-E-Y.

Sgt reacted to JamesThresher in Project Onyx
So I'm going to be receiving the majority of the parts for my new build tomorrow so I thought I'd start a build log.
Background
I've been building my own computers for a very long time (20 years or so) but I've never done a really high end build. By high end I don't necessarily mean the best performance or most expensive parts but more of a quality build I suppose, i've also never done a water cooling build before so this will be my first.
This build will be used for both work and gaming.
Due to work commitments I don't have a huge amount of time to work on this so this will be a reasonably long and ongoing build log.

Aesthetics

Thoughts
I'm sure there will likely be a number of comments about the spec's, so I'll address the likely ones now.
Why 32Gb RAM, nothing needs more than (insert figure here)?
I work in a number of areas of IT, the main one being enterprise software development. I run a local SQL Server and a number of Virtual server's so 32Gb of RAM will most certainly be used.
The AX1200i is overkill, you only need a 750w PSU
I'm planning on upgrading to Haswell-E 8 Core when it's launched next year along with a second GTX780 and i don't want to be changing the PSU so the AX1200i should last for quite some time.
The Maximus VI Formula has great onboard sound, why do you need a separate card?
I was originally looking at using the Maximus VI Extreme and ordered the STX before i'd changed my mind to the Formula.
So that's it so far, I'll post updates and photo's whenever I get a chance and I have some progress to report

Sgt got a reaction from looney in 780 cooler has a scratch, should i RMA?
Just RMA it, Evga have the best customer support anyway.
Oh and, putting a graphics card on what it seems (to me) a bed sheet, bad idea, Static electricity.

Sgt got a reaction from orangecat in What's the rudest thing you have ever done?
I do rude things all the time and I love it, the feeling you have when you open something by another part than the Tear Here part, is incredible.
