VerticalDiscussions got a reaction from delliks7 in 1080P with Anti Aliasing vs 4k Without
Ive never even looked at a 4K display for computer, but honestly i dont think it will look better, no matter what. The Pixel density is a physical issue that can be overcomed by software settings and boy do i see an ocean of pixels on my 23 inch 1080p display!

VerticalDiscussions got a reaction from sazrocks in "2K" does not mean 2560×1440
Spread the word, this post is the most complete and informal anyone will ever get about resolution categories and detailed explanation that 4K is 4096x2160 and not 3840x2160 aswell x-x! Altough every youtuber will still misinterpretate the terms 2K and 4K for that matter.

VerticalDiscussions reacted to Blasteque in Would you buy this bag?
If you're looking for something between a satchel and a backpack, I picked up one of these a while back and it's served me well:
https://www.amazon.com/OutdoorMaster-Sling-Bag-Crossbody-Backpack/dp/B015OFQIS8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1513356491&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=OutdoorMaster+Sling+Bag&psc=1
Large enough for a few changes of clothes, small enough to classify as a "personal item" on an airline.

Sounds like total marketing BS to me. Something that is laser resistant vs slice resistant can be so different as to make the comparison nonsense and has no meaning.
You could make cloth that is "laser resistant" that would be sliced open by a dollar store steak knife.

A backpack is cheaper and holds more stuff. Also doesn't make you look like a foreign student lost in the city kek.

There are plenty of better alternatives to this, I wouldn't buy it as it isn't really functional, it's so small and if I understand correctly the strap used to hang it on your shoulders is magnetic, so it just makes it easier for someone to rip it right off your back and be gone.

It kinda looks like a fanny pack with a longer strap ??♂️

I'd like to see the "needs a laser cutter to cut it" claim put to the test.

it's just a handbag to carry your lipstick and purse, it looks ridiculous

VerticalDiscussions reacted to dalekphalm in Would you buy this bag?
Here's the thing - depends on why you want it. If you are specifically buying it for the "cut proof" feature, I'd be cautious, and wait for reviews.
Why? Because in most cases, "cut proof" means "you'll still bleed". Most "cut proof" clothing, materials, etc, are straight up lying to you.

VerticalDiscussions reacted to Crunchy Dragon in The FCC just KILLED Net Neutrality
In all seriousness, this is pretty stupid. There was no legitimate reason to get rid of Net Neutrality.
RIP free market internet. You will be severely missed.

VerticalDiscussions reacted to Okjoek in Bitcoin: It's over 9000!!! (Edit: Now it's over 20,000!)
16,000 now wow.
Keeping in the spirit of spicy DBZ memes I want to see Bitcoin get taken out like Perfect Cell.
Gonna get hit by that massive Kamehameha bubble burst and scream "I'm Perfect" as it disintegrates. Makes sense since both were born from technology.
It's like I didn't think Capitalism could sink any lower it finds a new way to waste humanities valuable resources. I feel the only reason it exists is for people who want to be integrated to modern society without contributing to it in any positive way.

VerticalDiscussions reacted to porina in Chrome 63 will use even more RAM to "protect" you
I dunno what you all are doing, but I've not personally had any ram related problems with Chrome. Right now I have 9 tabs open and it is using less than 1GB.

I didn't need anything extra bar a case and screen protector at least. Cost is relevant at least.
So far been loving it. Hopefully it lasts as long as the little brother.

VerticalDiscussions reacted to captain_to_fire in Update your Android phones soon. New vulnerability named "Janus" allows attackers to modify apps without changing signatures
As stated in the Symantec article I linked, there are a handful of iOS malware because of vulnerabilities:
But then Apple has the advantage over many Android OEMs as Apple controls both software and hardware and they can quickly patch these vulnerabilities. So I'd rather say it's less likely to happen on up to date and not jailbroken iPhones.

Nice.
Too bad it costs a fortune and the accessories it takes to make it "worthwhile" are a couple hundred €s more in the end.

My first glass iPhone to my current one. So far it’s been a fantastic leap.

Hmmm, almost looks like the Samsung one me and my Mom bought during a sale earlier this year(went 50/50 on it).
Once you get it calibrated, the Samsungs are not bad.
Looky, looky what showed up in the mail. Did a trade for this with cash. I can't complain since I got a good deal on this. I can't wait to get this into my F@H/BOINC 24/7 rig. Definitely going to do some compare runs between this and my 5960X on crunching BOINC units. Just hope the air cooler can handle the heat output.
