I read somewhere that most drives don't even use the 3.3v line anymore, they have onboard converters down to 3.3v since some people use molex to sata adapters. I don't think it'd be a problem if you rigged sata connectors on the molex line.

EDIT: As long as you're connecting a hard drive.

where the heck are you getting your information? and WHY would you use assassin's creed unity as an example? that runs like crap on consoles too. and you are comparing the way consoles run these same games on a mix of medium and high settings with little to no AA to a PC which will run it at maxed out settings with high or maxed AA. thats like comparing a mustang to a Lambo in a race except the lambo has twice to 3 times the distance to cover and still wins in the end.
