Because it is better not support a feature right? Let's bash a company because of an option you don't like on a product you never intended on buying. And if you want to bash someone, bash MS because they added support to Office, it was not Apple. But that will never happen. 
Of all things, I actully like the touch bar, which I didn't like in the beginning. It is good they started supporting, it could bring a lot of benefits and improvements. 
Have you ever heard of 'good ol' mouse and keyboard? Why add touchscreens to laptops and not stick to that? 
It is good if everyone starts supporting everything, instead of locking features out.

I'm going to sum up why I think What.CD while not a legal thing, was an inherently good thing.
 
It's because it cannot exist in any other form.
 
What.CD was the best catalogue of music anywhere in the world, of perfect quality and perfectly curated, it was like the ultimate library for digital music. It had literally everything you could think of, the most obscure artists, the rarest vinyl rips in 24bit Flac. And it was exclusively used by Music lovers, which anecdotally I can safely say supported Music with their wallets too.
 
While we've gotten quite close, something like that just cannot exist legally, unfortunately.

Professional C++, C#, .NET, and F# developers, multiplied by $10,000 for every enterprise license. IBM exclusively uses MacBook Pros now. That's a lot of licenses for VS if Microsoft can get them.

Microsoft, the company behind a variety of products including Visual Studio, is planning to bring Visual Studio to the Mac.
 
Disclaimer: But I wouldn't hold my breath! It's probably gonna be terrible. It kind of looks awful from the one screenshot we have.
 
Oh and before you read further, from now I'm gonna format my tech news posts differently so that opinionated content is in green and non opinionated content is in automatic font.

My guess is that VS for Mac will be limited to developing Windows 10 UWP apps, Xamarin Mac, Android and IOS Apps. Probably nothing more or less.
 
At this point I'm so confused. Apple is taking the Mac less seriously but Microsoft is taking it more seriously. Why is Microsoft removing a major selling point of Windows? Why develop on Windows if a Mac can do it? What's the point?
Developing on Windows is better regardless of this awful decision.
 
I'm quite disappointed in Microsoft TBH. This would be the equivalent of Apple bringing iWork to PCs via native desktop apps.

Innovation doesn't have to be something new, it can be something old that's executed far better. The execution on the carbon was poor due to a lack of support.

You need to develop a taste for beer. Basically you didn't like all the "high end" beers (the ones that actually have flavour) because you haven't developed a taste for it yet. The cheap beer wasn't as bad (to you) because it is watered down in flavour to appeal to a larger market.

Yes, the big change was the fact the software is now available for schools to use for free.  There was a separate fee for schools which required multi-user educational licenses, which are quite expensive.  They don't have to pay for these anymore.
