gonvres got a reaction from TechyBen in Facebook's FIRST Hardware Product - Portal Showcase
Video and microphone directly in the living areas, just what we need.
The only company I'd somewhat trust with this is Apple. Their dedication to privacy is compelling.

Nice to see an AMD Dell after all the Intel scandals they went through.

Neat. But does a mouse pad with a cord really look that much cleaner than a mouse with a cord?

gonvres reacted to ItsTheDuckAgain in Difficult to attach Fractal Define R5 side panel, am I doing something wrong?
got the same case - it doesn't work like the 1990 cases when sliding in from the back. it's more a door style these days, try to attach the edge facing the front of the case in a 45° angle and then shut the door, so to say.... hope that helps.

dunno tbh. I did same as you did and never bothered with the cases fan controller.
but it interfering with a HDD sounds strange and unlikely´. most likely something else happened that time.

gonvres got a reaction from patrick3027 in $30 MOTHERBOARD?! – Can it game?
I would however like a video on if the cheapest CURRENT generation motherboard really makes any difference.
As whenever you build a cheap system for a family member you always see those $50/60 ASROCK boards or something, but I always just spend $20-30 more as I feel I'm getting a bit better build quality and reliability.

Didn't they say that the thumbnails would be click bait but the videos would remain high quality?
This whole video was click bait

gonvres got a reaction from The Angry Computersmasher in That Surface Laptop strikes me as having a lot of very poor design choices.
Since we never got a thread for the video.
I just can't believe the IO and alcantara choice they went with on it. Its still shocking to me that they wouldn't include USB Type C, not even one.
But that Alcantara keyboard is even worse. I work with alcantara as I work in the automotive industry and I see how poorly the stuff wears. People with cars just a couple of years old come back with horrible dark patches on their alcantara wheels, and like any fabric you can stain it, don't dare use the system with dirty hands.
I just don't get that design choice, a fabric area of the laptop on the most high volume touched part? Its primary used in racing cars due to its grip and also its a flame retardant. A laptop needs neither.

For this to be accurate you'd have to plug in the Type B connector the wrong way 60% of the time.

Yup, nice to see the serious side for once.
I can't be the only one who likes these kinds of videos much more than the DIY heatsink and drilling holes through motherboard stuff.

gonvres got a reaction from mrthuvi in What's up with these shitty thumbnails? - Honest Answers Ep. 5
Reminds me a lot of this:
The 'apology' that tells you more or less why you're wrong.
I'm not saying I particularly care or whatever, high end content will matter to me more than stupid thumbnails. But this could more be 'reasons why were going to continue to use the thumbnails' than anything.
As long as the titles don't turn into "50 REASONS WHY THE 1080TI IS THE MOST IMPORTANT VIDEO CARD LAUNCHED THIS YEAR!!!" then I'll probably keep clicking.

gonvres reacted to Castdeath97 in What cheap cheap motherboard to pair with G4560
Define "cheap". What price range are you looking for?
-
gonvres reacted to Aereldor in What cheap cheap motherboard to pair with G4560
Most of the cheapest H110 motherboards will need a BIOS update. However, go to a computer store and check up the manufacturing dates on the cheapest H110 motherboards, and match them up with the date the BIOS update to support Kabylake was released. If they were manufactured after the update was released, they've already got an updated BIOS.

Good video.
But there's a "big" flaw in the comparison. That being the "huge" Intel stock cooler you used.
This is what you get nowadays
Not this

gonvres got a reaction from shadowbyte in Core i3 7350K Overclockable Dual Core Review
I think also with this comparison you have to take into account the cost of the cooling hardware to allow the OC on the 7350k. The 7400 will achieve those results using the stock intel cooler, which in my view has been plenty adequate for default clock speeds for several generations of intel processors now. The i3 is hooked up to an AIO cooler, adding substantial price.

gonvres got a reaction from Bojamijams in Apple Airpods Review
The content just feels really rushed lately. They didn't do any real testing, they just went for the airpod clicks and did a short test reel featuring it.

gonvres got a reaction from Bojamijams in Apple Airpods Review
I don't find this a very thorough review.
Basically no mention of the sound quality, bar they're not as good as high end wired ones. No shit.
Complaining they're not worth twice the retail price that you paid. I mean really? Why is that even a conversation point.
