    Ignore it, deny everything.
The burden of proof is on them, not you. If you take any action, that's admitting to them they might have a case.

Few different factors. The HyperX Cloud Alpha are gaming are intended for "gaming". Now I use that term loosely because usely games especially FPS, there are a lot of explosions, gunfire, and footsteps. They all use (for the most part) bass, or sub bass. That's why a lot of "gaming" headphones are bass heavy. They tend to focus more on those noises. Now you might prefer your airpods becuase they are more "neutral" sounding than your hyperx. Snice they're more neutral, they will have more mids and highs, which will compliment the rest of the frequencies more better. Leading to a sound thats more pleasing to listen to. Bassy headphones tend to lack mids, with harsh highs. They just dont compliment each other.

Cheers for pointing this out, I never heard of this issue. I just opened up my Fulla it seems to be that particular unit. I mine surprisingly doesn't have any solder splats. After a quick google search, many people are complaining about it. I guess I just got lucky didn't get a "bad" unit. I got mine on the day of release, seems like the QC department went downhill ever since release. Thoughts on the JDS Labs Atom Amp? Sucks that it doesn't come with a built in DAC. Would've kicked the "Schiit" out of the Fulla.

I really recommend the Schiit Audio Mangi Amp, and Modi DAC. They will power your HD 58X no problem. They power my HD 650, and HD 800 fine, and they sound very good. However it is $200 USD, If you really want to spend $150 max, I would get the Fulla. It is an Amp/DAC combo, they will power your HD 58X no problem. However if you plan up grading your headphones, to something like an HD 650, HD 800.... They will not be enough to drive them to their full potential. I really recommend getting a Modi/Mangi stack as they will offer more "future proof" for future headphones. Also, if you do get the Fulla Amp/DAC combo, you can use it for DAC mode only. So if you every upgrade your amp to something like a Vali or an Asgard you wouldn't need a DAC. As your Fulla is already a DAC, sure the DAC on the Fulla isn't as good as the Modi, but it a good stepping stone to the audio world!

The ATH M50x aren't that great, honestly you can get better headphones. The sennheiser HD 598, or 599. Are ages better, even for monitoring. The m50x/m50 are sightly v shaped. The highs and treble are sightly harsh when overdriven.

What kind of case are they getting? try getting something that's reputable, and known to protect. Otterbox, survivor cases, etc etc. If they can protect an iphone x (all glass phone) then it can protect yours no problem.

You can power that with even a 440w. My girlfriend has a GTX 970, with a 4690. barely running off of a 440w. I wouldn't recommend it, I would shoot for a 550 at least to give yourself more head room for upgrades.

Define "light editing". I've been using 2 512gb intel 545s ssd in raid 0. It's INSANELY FAST! Not a single regret, however I only store games on it. So if I lose one of the ssds, I only lose the games installed in them. If you're serious about editing then get a 2tb ssd. However, If you do plan on using raid 0, get a reliable SSD from a reliable company. I CANNOT stress this enough. Intel testes their ssds, with equipment that other manufacturers have no clue that even exist. If I were you I would get 2 intel 545s in raid 0. I've heard more failures from samsung users running their ssd in raid 0, than intel users.

Boss katana series 100w will do you fine. However I really do recommend the Marshall DSL15c If you can find one used they go for about 300ish. You can find the DSL40c for about 500 give or take, which is a even better deal! They have a good crunch and clean sound. The Boss katana is very good clean sounding, also very good with pedals. If youre really cheaping out, you can get the line 6 spider 5. They get a lot of hate, but they are very clean sounding. I wouldn't recommend it tho as QC isn't good with line six.

I wouldn't get one of those right now. How long do you have until her graduation?
Does she game, or is this you being hopeful she will?
I'd strongly consider an i5 build. If you go with a locked 6500 and a cheap motherboard you're actually saving money over the AMD solution. The motherboard is about $40 cheaper, and you don't need to buy a cooler.

$20 over budget, but skip ordering a pizza once and you're there. This also has an SSD. You could also switch out for a cheaper case but I kept it as I figured you picked it for a reason.

I don't imagine the BIOS update is much of an issue now, as that was quite old, however if you do run across a board without an updated BIOS you either have to flash it via USB (few boards support this option), or install a previous gen CPU and update the BIOS that way. It's a pain. I'd avoid it.
The only problem with that is that motherboards for it are extremely hard to find.
