Cleaning Thermal Paste

What is the best way to clean off thermal paste and what counts as a lint-free cloth, kitchen towel etc.?

I use rubbing alcohol with a kitchen paper towel when cleaning my CPU and heat sink from thermal paste.

I always just used a dry paper towel. Never had any issues; just need to make sure it doesn't leave any paper bits behind.

I also recommend using pure alcohol with a tissue or paper towel.

What I did when I had no pure alcohol, was cleaning the processor with a tissue and the booze (white gin) from my grandma. (which contained over 35% alcohol ) After that I used a slightly wet paper to undo any residu that can be there because of the booze and then dry it with a dry paper.

I use alcohol with cotton swabs, then buff it out/remove dust with a small lens cleaner cloth.

I just 90% or above isopropyl alcohol, and either a dry paper power, or a microfiber cloth. Be sure to avoid smearing any of the thermal paste leaking into the cpu pins.

Coffee filter is good as it doesn't leave any bits after you are done

Use steel wool, and make sure to scrub hard! Lol JK dont ruin your cpu.
