If there would be any mistakes I'm sorry, but I'm from Czech republic. Please keep that in mind :)
Hi, I'd like to Build myself my first gaming PC with those specs.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460
GPU: (Gainward) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750ti with 2GB of memory
MOBO: ASUS B85M G
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 1600MHz
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB
That's it. And I'm wondering - would be a Corsair VS430 (obviously 430W PSU) be enough or should I go with the CX500?
Another day at the office.. This time- printers! Gotta love 'em. When they work, they sort of don't and if the don't they will not. To the point, I get a call today regarding a printer issue.
Teacher: Hi, I can't get my printer to print an Excel spreadsheet.
Me: Ok, any error coming up?
Teacher: No, but it asks me to select a printer and when I do (surprisingly the correct one) it says "unable to communicate".
Me: I'll be right down.
I go down the the classroom and I find the printer turned
With the justifications/excuses for building a computer with a custom water cooling loop out of the way, I move on to the design of the computer in this entry.
For this first water cooling computer build, as with all my previous personal builds, it needs to be built of components to be low maintenance and last at least 5 years. To achieve that enthusiast components are to be used, namely an x99 motherboard, lga 2011-v3 CPU, and a GTX 900 series graphics card. The exact components were selected
So I'm close to finishing up my personal gaming/streaming rig and I'm having trouble choosing a graphics card. I know the card I'm going to get is going to be used but I cant decide between an EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 or an EVGA GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0. I will be overclocking them to the best of my abilities if that will help in deciding.
Hello everyone,
I'm gonna build my very first gaming rig an i dont know if the parts that i choose are good and are compatble with each other. I would like to hear your opinions and tips.
parts:
- AMD FX 8350
- MSI AMD R9 290X LIGHTNING
- MSI 970A SLI KRAIT
- TOSHIBA DT01ACAxxx 1T
- COOLER MASTER SEIDON 120V V2.0
- SHARKOOM WMP600 BRONZE
- CRUSIAL BALLISTIX 8 GB DDR3-1600 KIT
- THERMALTAKE VERSA H34
Is an antistatic wristband required?
I am a gamer and would like to build a new system. As of right now i am running an AMD fx-6300, 8 gigs of ram, 750 watt powersupply, 2 r7 260xs in crossfire, an ASUS M5a97 R2.0 motherboard, h80i, and a corsair 750d. I would like inputs for a new system. My budget is around $3,000 not including monitor, peripherals, etc.. I want to go the intel route this time around and I'm not sure what platform would be best lga 1150, 1155, 2011, or 2011-v3? If anyone has some information post in comments, I a
So about my build, I decided to go ahead and a few new things to it pushing me over budget, but I have been putting in a lot of hours at work, and I have found out that I should be to get around $1200 - $1300 by my second pay check, so budget is still an issue but I have a lot more breathing room, meaning i can get a lot more now.
With that being said I made some upgrades to my new rig, and same as the last post I would love to see some criticism and comments on my build. You could recommend

Managed to "aquire" some tools from my dads workshop on saturday, so Sunday brings you this!
Please do excuse the terrible phone picture quality :(

This entry is a bit of a story. If you are looking for something about designing and building a water cooling loop, future entries will cover that.
As I write this, $900 worth of water cooling components and custom cables have been ordered and will be packed and shipped in the next week. That amount could easily build a decent gaming computer, especially if secondhand components are involved. Having built dozens of computers over the past 14 years I know how far $900 USD could go towards better
So inevitable has finally happened, Old Bessy has finally kicked the bucket. She will be missed, and nothing can replace that first computer that you have ever built. For a computer built from old parts as it was, it served me well these last 5 years, but now it's time to move onto something new.
Knowing that this was going to come eventually I started to plan out my new rig a while back and this is finally what I'll settle on:

Windows Deployment Services a.k.a WDS in short allows to capture an image of a pre-configued laptop and deploy it to multiple ones at the same time. Imagine doing 30 laptops ONE. BYE ONE. Every program, every configuration, manually... No thanx k bye. Thank god for that Microsoft.. I salute (and every other IT sysadmin) you! I was only able to do 8 at a time but with a 10 gig switch and every laptop connected with cat 6 this would take 5 minutes... not a bloody hour. If you configure the unatten
Where to start, where to start... I guess it all began with a little 12 year old me getting my first computer. I was happy as can be for it was something that I always wanted, but my parents thought I wasn't old enough for the time being. It was an old hp pavilion still running on windows vista (I got a lot of hand me downs as a kid) and all it could do was go online and check the email, maybe watch a video on youtube at 480p at most. I kept it really clean on the outside, made sure it was nice,
Not a lot of people decide to go with a surround 1440p PC setup; it's usually just 1080p surround, going ultrawide, or even 4K. Surround gaming is definitely a different experience compared to your standard single monitor setup, as the extra peripheral vision can help in simulators, FPS's, and even RPGs. Whether you enjoy the extra vision is up for debate, but personal preferences...
So why not take the plunge?
The immense horsepower needed. VRAM usage is a huge issue beyond 8 million pi
A little background since you guys have never technically seen nor have I ever made a legit build log of my build...
All my life I had been seen as a type of person not to hold to a goal that I set myself. Let it be long term or short, they were sorta right. But two months ago, I finally summoned the courage to build my first actual gaming PC, which is ironic because I have always enjoy technology, so why build one just now? Well... the simplest way to answer is to say,"money doesn't grow
Another one for you all- this one is a daily encounter multiplied by 10.
Pupil: I can't log on.
Me: Okay, what message pops up when you type in your username and password?
Pupil: I type my password and it doesn't log me in.
Me: I know, what ERROR message pops up when you press ENTER?
Pupil: "Your password is incorrect"
Me: Thanks for narrowing it down! What is your username? (Our username scheme is last two digits of the year they enrolled + surname + first letter of their name. For exampl
Well, the first entry of many I hope.
I'll be spilling out crap in this blog and whatever comes to mind regarding my fantastic job as a techie and the daily BS I have to (sometimes) face. The day hasn't even started and a pupil (student) comes in and the conversation goes as follows:
Pupil: I have lost my work, can you find it for me?
Me: Where did you save it?
Pupil: Don’t know
Me: What did you call it?
Pupil: Don’t know
Me: When did you last have it open?
Pupil: Don’t know

In the previous section, I decided to forego terminology and verbiage for the sake of expediency, but to continue the discussion one needs to know about the parallelism hierarchy in programming. At the highest level is process parallelism, usually the calling card of distributed computing, where multiple processes run on multiple nodes in a distributed system such as CentOS on a cluster supercomputer. This can take the form of SPMD (Single Program, Multiple Data), MPMD (Multiple...), or MPSD (Mu
