In need of a laptop.

So I need a good laptop. I have a ok gaming tower pc so I don't an overkill laptop but I know I will install games on the laptop anyway. I am willing to use about 1000 euros in the laptop. I want a 1080p display at least 8 gigs of ram a good gpu and preferably a ssd drive in it (I can install one myself so it doesn't matter too much). Off course it needs to be with good battery and light because I will be using it for school work. I was thinking about lenovo y50-70 15,6. (there is a link to a Fi

Can't seem to choose Graphics Card for AMD A10 7850k

Ok guys im kinda new into this. Anyways i've been planning on building my pc and found that kaveri is the processor that's really good for my budget. I researched much about it and found out that it could crossfire with an amd radeon discrete graphics card. My questions here would be: Would the R9 270x work with the a10's apu (in terms of crossfire) and provide very nice graphics and performance for gaming and would the gtx 960 work better than the r9 even though the apu wouldnt be able to cross

More information about RAID 0 wanted.

I would like to see a video about the actual dangers of raid 0 today. This needs to include some good information about backups from raid to what, and recovery from such backups if I did lose a raid disk (lets say 1 out of 4). I think at least some cloning software excludes RAID disks - ??? There are a whole lot of things that can be brought out for us to learn so we can really make intelligent decisions about this. Can you give us some actual failure rates in the past and today? I hav

Start Multithreaded and Separated

It's not difficult to rearrange this with native C++ threads. The benefit to starting with this template is easy compartmentalization, easy debugging, easy expandability, and it's not overly difficult to optimize or rebalance if one thread is getting bogged down. You can rapidly figure out where in the system you're choking and can find ways to alleviate it.   If you're building a game and you don't start with something similar to this, I blame you for the mediocrity of ga

Microsoft Partner Conference 2015

~ Watch The Conference Here ~   Wow guys just wow !   I just spent the past 3 hours stuck to my TV watching the keynote... And all I can say is, WOW ! It was boring as heck, yet I woke up when I heard Windows 10... The guy that was talking about it was funny looking with his hat. Te webernet or Internet all noticed that they were using Build 10166 of Windows 10 to demo all the features, which is a public build. Not their usual thing. They usually use an Internal build. That was a surpris

Starting New Job @ iStyle

Hey guys....   I am happy to announce that, only a few short months after I re-located to Dubai UAE, I have found a new job @iStyle. It's an Apple Retailer here. I love the idea that I will be surrounded by Apple products. No I am not an Apple Fanboy. As proof I own an iPhone 4S, an iPad Air 1st Gen and a Galaxy Note 3. The Note 3 is my daily driver, the iPhone 4S is only used for my Lebanese line which I seldom use. I love both platforms equally.   Anyway, I will be occupying the Sales Exec

Clearing up the AMD 300 series confusion

OK, so there's a bit of a debate about it recently and a few tech YouTubers have also given their opinion, so it's only relevant that some random nobody with too many posts on a tech-forum also gives theirs.   I'll start off with what GCN cards AMD has released since 2012.   300 Series:   R9 390X - Hawaii XT 2816 Stream processors based on GCN 1.1 R9 390 - Hawaii PRO 2536 Stream processors based on GCN 1.1 R9 380 - Tonga PRO 1792 Stream processors based on GCN 1.2 R7 370 - Pitcairn PRO 102
