750D no standoffs for MOBO included

teeejay

Hello,

I was just wondering, I did not get any MOBO standoffs with my brand new 750D.

Can I install it without standoffs? Or the standoffs are no longer included, needed with that case?

In the picture http://www.xtremehardware.com/images/stories/Corsair/news/Corsair_750d_02.jpg

you can see, that the holes for MOBO screws are convex, so they make space between case and MOBO.

Thank You.

Look in the bays. There should be a box.

There was box, but with no standoffs, and they are not even mounted in the case.

Standoffs are always required for installing a motherboard, if not used you have a big chance of causing shortcuts.

I'll write to Corsair then. I was so excited about building in that case!

If you can, look at this review. http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=355

Approximately, in the middle of review there is written:

"Here's the included mounting hardware. While the manual says there are four extra standoffs included for motherboards, I only count one. This instantly means a problem for you folks looking to put MATX boards into this case. It has built in standoffs for normal size ATX boards, but you would need these extra ones for the two MATX mounting holes provided. Come on, Corsair, just throw one more in. Maybe some plastic flat bottomed standoffs for those oddball MATX boards that don't reach all the mounting holes."

It seems like there is no need for external standoffs, it looks like they're built in the case -

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules/NDReviews/images/Corsair750D/DSC_9718.jpg

and this is build, they are using just the holes built in case

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules/NDReviews/images/Corsair750D/DSC_9734.jpg

It seems like, from the review, you need external standoffs just if you were using MATX boards.

750d has built in stand offs

As said in many reviews, it supposed to come with standoffs. Either you didn't know that or you legitimately want him to break his board.

The standoffs for an ATX board are built in, for a motherboard larger than ATX you need to use the included standoffs.

Ya I think it has built-in standoffs. You see how all the holes for screwing in the MOBA are raised.

  • 9 months later...

Just looked at my inside of 750D and mine is different than all your guys..i wish it wasn't as ,id prefer it was like everyone else's, and to know my case is ok,,and not an early model ,but probably not as i only got it last week ,and our main Shop in New Zealand here is PB Technologies, they only got the cases in 2 weeks ago, so its probably the other way around and this is some improvement made by corsair ?

My stand offs are not the raised bump type i see in all the pics I have seen, but instead the motherboard try is dead flat and it has hexagonal stand offs with hex outside, thread inside ,with a screw thread on bottom for attachment to motherboard, they are in opposite config to above mentioned ATX lay out ,and instead factory fitted and painted in place in the EL - ATX config,

I also only have one spare standoff .

ill post pic when i get my camera or cell ph cable for PC turns up.
