Mozilla kills the Firefox Phone

Firefox OS is no longer being developed and firefox phones will be discontinued.


Today, Mozilla revealed that it will no longer develop or sell Firefox OS smartphones and devices, ending a two and a half year effort to break into the low-end smartphone world. The news was originally announced at a developer event and Mozilla later confirmed it toTechCrunch.

Yeah, now you can find a fix to stop fucking memory leaks on this shitty browser. After like 5 minutes, RAM usage jumps to over 2 gigs of my 6 available, running slowing as fuck. and i only have 4 tabs loaded

Well i mean there are so many Ubuntu, Android, Windows, IOS, fireos?, oxygenOS there's probably more but i mean they didn't really ever stand a chance.

Firefox OS died quicker than I thought.

It's more sad that webOS died though, I liked that OS.

Mozilla is doing better now than ever. Last year they got over 300 million dollars in revenue, and in 2011 they got about half of that. According to this they have also become free from needing Google, and are expecting even higher revenue in the future.

webOS is Open Source now. It ain't dead.
