Corsair vs Coolermaster

lior1111

Hello , im just finishing up my build , after it took me like 2 - 3 days to pick a Graphics card - R9 390x , im now trying to pick a case.

So , my thoughts ( its also kinda budget limited so i tried to find the best budget ones ) are :

Corsair Vengeance C70

m_1.jpg

or

CoolerMaster CM Storm Enforcer

\

I like the coolermaster look much more , but is it worth it ?

Thanks in advance

Get a 390 instead (the performance delta is honestly not worth the price increase esp after overclocking and the change doesn't affect any of the issues with hawaii or add the ability to increase any settings or increase resolution) then buy a decent case and pocket the rest of the money.

Also those are insanely overpriced cases. Define R5/S or Cooler Master Mastercase 5 are both better for the price imho.

The brand is Fractal Design (the name itself might be different). Do what you will, but its basically the mid-tier equivalent of the titan x instead of the 980ti. Pretty massive waste imho (although numerous times I've gotten into arguments with people that disagree with me on the subject here.)

Take what you think looks best.

You dont rebuild your PC that often anyways (i assume) and if you dont take what case you think looks best you will regret it.

yeah man but you have to look at the price.. 980ti is so expensive for me , the equivalent of it i think its the fury and its not even out yet in my country.. 390x is the perfect $ for fps sweetspot for me

but doesnt it affect the performance? youre saying people said get corsair only because of the rebuild options and comfort?

By definition the 390x CANNOT be a $/fps sweet spot as it gives less than 5% boost over a 390 while costing 25-40% more. (ofc this only applies when the price difference is so large, if for some reason there the price difference is less than say 10% I would "consider" it instead of the 390.)

I was not saying you should buy a 980ti. I was saying the 390x is to the titan x as the 390 is to the 980 ti, and just like I would discourage someone from buying a titan x, I would also discourage someone from buying a 390x

seriously? but i saw benchmarks on youtube saying otherwise O.o like , i think , every one of them that i saw was proving 390x is like 5-10 fps better , not much but id like to get as much as i can

can you show me a video proving otherwise?

Cases dont make any difference ingame.

They make a difference in build quality, features and in the building experience. But for most of the time its either sitting on your desk or on your floor. Take the one you think looks best.

Than it will feel like its more your creation and you will be more passionate about it.

4 fps at 1080p, 3-4 fps at 1440p, 2-3 fps at 4k. Plus the range of benefits changes nothing. It doesn't make 4k playable with those games. It doesn't make 1440p high settings playable. It doesn't change if the game can or can't handle 60Hz or 144Hz. It is a 3-4 fps that means nothing in the end, because it doesn't get you anything. There aren't any places where the 390 fails where the 390x doesn't (as is the case with the 970 vs 980). It's literally the exact same issue as the titan x and 980ti.

NOTE those show the 290 before driver updates brought it most of the 390 performance so don't take too much stock in those values. The 390/390x comparison however is valid.

youre pretty much right man.. but id still like to get the 390x , if the price will be too much , which is possible , i now know that the 390 is still better than gtx970 , so thanks a bunch man ! im now posting the build on the build forum =)

It's all fine. I just bring it up to everyone that thinks about getting or recommends a 390x.

I have a coolermaster Storm Enforcer and here some pros and cons while i am still using this case.

Pro:

big gpu clearance

well ventilated ( very low temps on your HDD)

looks great.

psu dust filter can be easily access and remove without you removing the psu.

cons:

only support 120 mm radiator ( will support 240mm radiator but you have to do some mods.)

more than 11" of gpu size you have to remove the drive cage

cleaning the case is more tedious than it looks,

front dust filter feels like cheap mesh and hard to remove and clean.

Rig: CPU: Intel I7 4790k @ 4.5 ghz | MOBO: MSI Z97 Gaming 3 | RAM: 4x4 gigs Kingston Fury 1600 ddr3 | GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 1070 Gaming X PSU: Seasonic M12ii-620 Evo Edition | HDD: 1 TB WD, 500 GB WD | SSD: Kingston SSD now 240 and 120 GB CASE: In Win 303 RGB edition | Mouse: Corsair m65 pro | Keyboard: Roccat Ryos MK | Headset: Hyper X Cloud Pro  | Monitor: LG 29um58-P Ultrawide monitor.
